Sheffield United v Swansea City Competition - Sky Bet Championship Venue - Bramall Lane Date - 19 February 2022 Kick off - 3:00pm Following their hard-fought 3-1 victory over Bristol City, next up for Russell Martin’s Swansea squad is a tricky looking trip to Play-Off chasing Sheffield United. Last Sunday, the Swans produced a battling second-half fightback as they came from a goal down to beat Bristol City 3-1. The Robins led at the break thanks to Andreas Weimann's fine run and finish, but Michael Obafemi slid in to level early in the second period before on-loan Fulham defender Cyrus Christie headed in despite appeals for offside. Joel Piroe drilled in his first goal in eight games to seal Swansea's second straight home win in stoppage time. As a result, the Swans climbed to 16th in the table, while Bristol City dropped to 17th having seen their run without an away Championship victory stretch to 10 games. On Tuesday evening, Sheffield United spurned a number of chances as they were held to a second goalless draw in four days, by a resolute Hull City. Jack Robinson headed wide from an early free-kick and, former Swan, Morgan Gibbs-White saw a shot deflected over as the Blades were frustrated in the first half. Another ex-Swan, Oli McBurnie was guilty of spurning several openings and Hull goalkeeper Matt Ingram saved well from Iliman N'Diaye on the break. In fact, the Tigers almost snatched the points late on but Ryan Longman's shot flashed narrowly wide. The point was enough for the Blades to move above West Brom into eighth - level on points with Steve Cooper’s Nottm Forest but with a game in hand - and they are now unbeaten in six matches, while Hull ended a run of three consecutive defeats. The Swans have played the Blades on 43 previous occasions, winning 13, losing 19 and drawing 11. The teams last met at Bramall Lane in the opening fixture of the 2018/19 season and the Swans ran out 2-1 winners thanks to goals from Oli McBurnie and Yan Dhanda with his very first touch in League football: Turning to Saturday, the Blades will be desperate to get back to winning ways and I think they will run out 2-0 victors. Hope I’m wrong
We can score if , we play the ball forward quicker, into channels Obafemi can run onto and provide better service to Piroe .So a loss is expected
Thanks Taff....yes the Blades are going well but....the higher you are the further you fall so a Swans win assuming we do not defend from the off and go for it from the off...
Thanks Taff, I am afraid I am not too hopeful with this one. It's a point at best but I can see us coming unstuck at the back so it's a 1-0 loss for me.
It's a rare opportunity for a goalkeeper to score on Saturday with a 90mph tail wind. I think a 1-1 draw with both keepers scoring.

Swansea City's assistant head coach Luke Williams has left the Championship club. Former Swindon Town manager Williams, 40, was appointed alongside head coach Russell Martin in August 2021. Swansea say Williams has departed for personal reasons and have indicated that he is unlikely to be replaced before the end of the season. Williams joined Swansea having previously served as Martin's number two at MK Dons. "Everyone at Swansea City would like to wish Luke all the best for the future and thank him for his hard work while at the club," Swansea said in a statement. Matt Gill, Swansea's technical development coach, is likely to act as Martin's assistant for the rest of this season. Williams was Swindon manager between 2015 and 2017 and had a spell in charge of Bristol City Under-23s before joining the Dons in 2019. He left the League One club for Swansea along with Martin, Gill and goalkeeping coach Dean Thornton.
All good , my fault for installing the sheets in the summer (that'll do) , now the walls will come down first before the roof
We’ve lost part of our warehouse roof, all the steel apex flashing is flying around in the wind. Got to try and sort that out on Monday.
Helped my neighbour this morning cut up a tree that had fallen in his garden. Any excuse to get the chain saw out!
