Strange week but back to the job in hand the season isn’t lost yet
We have a new manager and he needs our support
Really interested to see how the team plays after his first full week. Need a win games are running out. 2-1 for me

Hopefully Neil has been working on the defence, if we go behind early on it could lead to an awful atmosphere. Feel sorry for the bloke, his 1st home game and all this negative news floating around, we desperately need a win and hopefully the mood will change.
    1-1 for me

Very tough game this one which I am slightly worried about. Think we’ll get beat if I’m honest. A draw wouldn’t be the worst result in the world, but we are desperate for three points.

Not confident at all. Lose 0 2. Then things will start to pick up again

Probably the most important game of the season...

Just avoid defeat, and show us an urgency performance please.

Fight and you will stir the crowd...

I hope the manager and KLD et al, have a a smile at the final whistle....

Not much to ask for guys!

Just listened to Neil's press conference.
I think Alex is just the type of manager the club needs at the moment. Plays everything with a straight bat.
How good he is time will tell. But looks and sounds like a man you can trust.
Players wont have any mixed messages they will know exactly what is expected of them, and he wont bullshit the fans.
He's not been in long and hasn't got many games to sort it out and end of the day winning is what matters but
starting to see why he was so liked by PNE and Norwich fans

We’re Sunderland playing in L1, regardless of our current form, draws are no good to us and especially at home.

Time to stop feeling sorry for ourselves and show some grit.

RTB's injured list shows how many key players we have out but everyone is a professional player and most capable of playing much better.

Neil seems to have the nous, and cool, to work things out quickly so I'm going for an organised 1-0.

As he's had all week to prepare I hope the weather doesn't affect the game.

Haway the Lads and an 80th minute winner from Defoe <cheers>

    That is your opinion kidda.

This match is the start of a new season for me...

I want to see a hunger.

I want to see an urgency.

If I see that, and we don't get beat...

then that's a positive start for me.

You, on the other hand....have just said that a draw is no good?

We are in League 1.....becaause we are currently only League 1 standard.

We do not have the holy right to shout from the rooftops that we are a Prem Club any longer. We need to build, and we need to fight to get back there one day......Never forget that.

I was surprised he didn't get half an hour but then again if he got injured people would have a go for playing him. Unless they have had one of those 'bounce' games this week.

It was an ideal opportunity, but you are right there would have people moaning if he'd picked up an injury. Unless he can get some minutes soon then it's going to end up being a pointless signing. They should have arranged a bounce game every week since he signed. Get some miles in the legs

Just watched the pressa and it's given me the confidence to change my vote from a draw to a home win.

I really like this bloke, for the first time since PDC we have a manager with a bit of bite - it is a good thing to have the players feel a tad afraid of the gaffer, makes them give that bit more during games.

This is the man to get us out of L1, I just hope he hasn't been banjaxed by our squad limitations and our recent implosion so that he actually has a chance to do it this season. If not, then I am certain he can do it next season.

I also think he has the ability to drive us to success in the championship.

I am so happy to hear that he has only dealt with KLD and none of the chuckle brothers. I needed to hear that from him just to be reassured that he isn't going to be distracted by the 41% furore.

The only regret I take from the pressa is that we didn't have Alex Neil at the start of the season.

So you’re basically saying you’d be happy with a point tomorrow? Fair enough. I’ll be gutted with anything less than 3 points. Teams are closing on us now and we’re in a fight just to secure a play-off place. We need wins, not draws.

I was expecting one or two to get 45 mins to be honest, but then wondered was it ruled out because it was a cup game and might have infringed some rule or other,.

I suppose, in the context of our "mini-season" it's about arresting the decline, finding some performances and staying unbeaten. I'm nervous for tomorrow because MK Dons are a decent side on a very good run. We are the opposite and we have looked completely out of ideas with the ball at our feet. A draw is no good, but it's better than a defeat

I'd take a draw and a good performance tomorrow over a scrappy win and we play **** (think Portsmouth game)

I know that sounds daft but we need to find some form from somewhere otherwise our season is done

    ....No !

Mate, I'm simply saying I want to see a perfomance. I want to see an urgency....I want to see a togetherness....it's gonna take time still.

We need to build a confidence. We need to give a little time for the new Manager to instill a new positivity...

Why are you not listening to a different view point kidda?

Tomorrow I'll be watching loads of ..off the ball attitude and body language...and I will my own mind up, and only then.

....please don't have a crack at the team if they've battled, and shown guts, but not won....please don't do that
