I am about 1.5 miles from the coast as the crow flies, just let dogs out...FM it's windy. There is this constant 'drone' noise like an aeroplane above...except there isn't one.
I'm sat in the office which is in the National Oceanography Centre sat exposed out in the docks in Southampton. There is the constant loud rumble of wind, but hopefully that's all it ends up being. My drive in early this morning was normal albeit the Itchen Bridge is closed. Whether my drive home will be as simple remains to be seen. I will be driving after the strongest winds have died back but just depends what damage has been done in the meantime.
Sat in the office and can now hear the wind outside. Decided to stick my head out of the door and nearly got thrown backwards!
Surfers warned to stay out of the waves The RNLI in Minehead, Somerset, is warning people to stay out of the sea as the coast is battered by high winds. A spokesperson said: "Despite the prevailing weather I have seen people surfing at Minehead this morning. I really need to get a warning out against anyone doing this. "They are not only putting their lives at risk, they are potentially jeopardising the lives of those who will be called out to rescue them if things go wrong
Scary as ****! Just watched the “double decker” Qatar plane pull out of landing and go back up, after watching a BA pilot make a brilliantly smooth landing.
My mum lives in upper Shirley and has had two big and substantial wooden gates blown down . So I expect it can be localised ? Here in bh22. It’s not great , but not as bad as I feared .
