Andre Villas-Boas is obviously still acclimatising to the British Media. This has to be the only explanation to the following statement... "John (Terry) is a player who [represents] this country to the highest level internationally. He is a player of great responsibilities. "I find it strange when people don't trust the words of a representative from your country." Given Terry's previous misdemeanours, I don't think Mr Villas-Boas was well advised to suggest trusting Terry's word. I can only imagine that Wayne Bridge and John's wife was given the same schpeel... Perhaps Andre is unaware of John's form on the 'truth'...
RHC - its just a strange thing for a manager to say of his player. I understand a manager backing his man, but to say " He represents his country, so he doesn't lie." well, under the circumstances its bizarre to say the least. I imagine someone in the press room set him up for that one, given John's known dishonesty and lack of moral fibre. What is also interesting is just how quiet its gone on the Suarez/Evra complaint. 10 incidences, and no witnesses to any of them, compared to a police investigation. Sorry to have posted this inappropriately, as you've viewed this, but I thought the contrast was interesting and also a little amusing - schadenfreude, if you like...
Luv - these GC'ers are nuts! but gotta love the Conga!! RHC - I'm no linguistics expert, but you've got to enjoy the pain of another when you get the chance, especially as 24 hours earlier, there would be those camping on the high ground and letting us know about it who are now right down in the same mire heartily defending Terry. Poor old Fabio must be regretting his re-appointment of John to the England armband. He could have chosen a man with a stainless reputation to have the job - I'd suggest Jamie Carragher Right, where did I leave my tin hat...
