Plus those panels take a lot of energy to manufacture. This green fuel shyte is just a load of bollocks.

They do require energy to make them but typically pay back this debt in 1-4 years of use. I use solar panels for all my electricity and therefore pay no bills.

How long do the storage batteries last for and cost to replace. How much pollution does it creat in places like india. Next they will ban curries because l8ke cows the eruptions from exhaust gases is creating more greenhouse gas.

Off grid completely except for a land line, which is too old and basic to carry the internet.

Exactly. Inherently solar panels are less than 30% efficient. I think even the best ones struggle to be 25% efficient.
It's not a problem if you're blessed with unbroken sunshine but here in Northern Europe solar panels will never be the answer. The sun is just too low in the Winter months.
You'll be pleased to hear that many older people in the UK aren't using their heating this Winter because they can't afford it.
The bonus for you climate change evangelists is that many of them might die so there will be less nasty humans to kill your planet.

I totally agree that we should limit the use of fossil fuels. For many reasons.
It's a diminishing resource and it ties us to regimes we don't want to deal with.
I drive a car with a small petrol engine. It's emissions are so low that it qualifies for a discount on road tax. I don't know how much greener I would be buying an electric car but I'd guess it wouldn't be much.
Limit engine size and speed limits of new cars and set the manufacturers maximum emissions targets. Why do we have to be nett zero?
Oil is the best fuel for energy per litre or kg by far. Let's just use it more efficiently.

We here have the most sunshine in all of Europe, still isn't practical to go solar.
As fuel prices go up, OPEC controlled, time to go back to basics, trees + chainsaw= firewood.
And no when you cut them they don't scream.

One upside of renewals, hydrogen or nuclear is not being held to ransom by Putin, OPEC or the other oil producers. The Germans are floppy on Ukraine because of their dependence on Russian gas - which the UK is to a degree. Pity the UK pissed its North Sea revenue up the wall instead of building a Norway style sovereign wealth fund, which has c. £1.1Trillion in it.

Have Whitty, Vallance, and VanTam moved to the Met office, ? The way the way the msm are reporting the latest weather catastrophe we're all doomed again <yikes>
Stay safe people, stay at home, don't go near any trees, tie everything down in your gardens, inflate your rubber dinghies, stock up with plenty of food and water, there will be great lost of life, its windy out there.
    fuxake, here we go again<grr>

A reporter said that this could be one of the worst storms in history - at least since 2014.
    8 years isn't a very long history :)

Everything they report on is blown out of all proportion. They scare the absolute **** out of the people who believe what they see on the TV. It's actually criminal.

Please tell me you meant that Blono:D
The reporters up and down the country were in full fear mode, like we've never had a storm before, its pathetic, oh, and you can be fined if your wheelie bin blows over, every cloud for the councils eh?
