As I said I think he is justifying to himself why he is losing games. Who knows, perhaps his discussions with Partichi and the board led him to believe it would be one out one in.
You seem to have taken against Conte which surprises me given the short time he has been with Spurs.

I don't like his style of football and people that blame everyone else for their mistakes piss me off.
Leadership requires sacrifice and he seems to sacrifice the players, instead.

Don't get me wrong, I said at the time that the transfer window was poor and unambitious.
The club seem to have done what he wanted though, so this just smacks of more excuse making.
He's trying to pass the buck and it stops with him. He's been **** for the last month or so.

There is a realistic suggestion that he also wanted Kessie across the line in January, but either he or his agent has been in Signing Fee Mode since at least December that wasn't going to happen unless we offered silly money as wages - and given the figures being touted for a January move were in the ballpark of £150k a week, which is more than double what Milan pay him, that also gives a very realistic suggestion why we didn't push that one

Kessie had no intention of going anywhere and he made that perfectly clear.
The same is true of a whole list of out-of-contract players, hoping to take advantage of a post-covid market.
Chelsea can't even tie down their own defenders, FFS.

He is asked in every interview about this or that player and to me he always seems quite diplomatic in his replies the only one perhaps he said more about was Ndomebele and I think this was a tactic to get a rise out of the player.

As for his style, I don't think we see a finished product yet because , as I said, it's very early days, but what I have seen is far better than we have experienced with some of our former managers. His style is quite pragmatic IMO with a willingness to use multiple tactics to get the ball forward, from fast passing and movement to long balls from deep. Very Italian and that's surely no surprise. We haven't perhaps moved the ball quick enough in midfield most of the time but it does look as though Bentacur might be a part solution to this and Dier is for sure missed as is Skipp.

Conte had his best PL performance in 2016-17.
93 pts at Chelsky, 7 pts ahead of Spurs.

If you deem all the variables to be equalised for the entire season :

    - both squads were of equal ability

    - fixture schedules had the same average degree of opponent
difficulty over any given time window

    - Spurs UEFA involvement did not result in their squad
being more fatigued or injured than Chelsky, at any
    given point in the season

then Conte himself is worth 7 pts on his teams' PL season tally.

On the assumption that Nuno would have finished the remaining
fixtures in the season no better/worse on results than last season,

then for Conte in charge you would expect Spurs to finish on
    no less than 62 + 6 + 7 * (28/38) = 62 + 6 + 5 = 73 pts.

He has already lost the 6 pts Nuno obtained, in the days
    since the transfer window closed.

So how many pts above/below 62 do people think Spurs
will finish with come May ??

Luka Modric on a free (dreaming I know) and the whole Spurs situation changes. That’s the frustrating thing for me, one very good signing in the right position would improve things dramatically.

Thats fair enough if you have thought it hasn't been up to scratch.

I think the bolded part is what hes complaining about which isnt wrong (if you are of that opinion) so surely saying that is justified? (Not withstanding you then undermine your existing players but i would be surprised if the player do not know this).

I don't think that anything could justify it, let alone a transfer window where his aims were targeted.
He apparently wanted Bentancur and Kulusevski in and half our midfield out. That's what happened.
An extra winger wouldn't have made much of a difference, in my opinion.

If he didn't like the setup, which hasn't been a mystery to anyone, then he shouldn't have taken the job.
If he feels like he was bamboozled somehow, then he should quit.
He shouldn't undermine the squad, make excuses and whine to the press to avoid any blame. It's pathetic.

What should he do then? Be fake and positive and pretend all is well?

I really don’t get why you’re so critical of Conte here. I don’t think he said anything that most fans wouldn’t agree with anyway.

Spurs need a manager exactly like him rather than a yes man who will accept the usual.

He can say what he likes behind closed doors.
If he's not happy with the situation, then he should talk to Levy about it or quit.
This isn't him being honest. It's him passing the buck. He did the same with our poor performances.

He’s been asked questions in an interview and answered them honestly. It’s not great as a fan to see but it’s refreshing and easy imo put good pressure on the board. Neither you or I know what was promised to him when he took the job but it’s not a reach to say the club wanted him more than he wanted them so I imagine they would have given some sort of guarantee.

It doesn't put pressure on the board, at all. It puts pressure on the team.
Telling the board that he'll quit if he's not backed and then explain why he's quit would put pressure on them.
Doing this is just for his own ego and image. It's entirely selfish.

You seem certain that he’s making excuses but what about the possibility that Levy has been telling him lies?

We all know what Levy is like when **** hits the fan and he gets desperate…the type of guy that would try to sell sand to an Arab if he had to

Or try to sell the club to a Saudi consortium for an inflated price then complain to the Premier League when the same consortium decide to buy Newcastle instead

The he should quit and say that's why he's done so.
Is there any evidence that this happened?

It was alleged (see below) so no concrete evidence, but it would be Levy-esque to try to sell the club when we'd just moved into the new stadium and were in the latter stages of the Champions League. It would also be very Levy-esque to over-value the club to the extent where even the most cash-rich investors would tell him where to go.

Alleged by a random Newcastle fan who claims to have three good sources and reveals none of them? I think I'll pass.
Anyone pushing to have his club taken over by a murderous dictator has serious issues.

I would take unfounded comments from a frustrated Newcastle fan raging at the slow takeover of his club with a large pinch of salt.

If the club find a buyer or minority investment then I’m also almost certain it won’t be from the GCC, let alone Saudi Arabia.

I'm certainly not pushing that but I wouldn't be surprised if Levy had tried to and subsequently tried to block another team from doing so when his attempt failed.
