    Leeds Utd v Manchester Utd
    Sunday 20th February 2022@14:00 | Elland Road

Following back to back defeats against Newcastle Utd and Everton, Leeds look to return to winning ways against bitter enemies Manchester Utd at Elland Road on Sunday lunchtime. Before their midweek win against ten-men Brighton, the Red Devils had failed to beat both Southampton and Burnley, and were dumped out of the FA Cup by Middlesbrough.

Their lack of form under German Coach Ralf Rangnick has created a twenty point gap between themselves and the Blue side of Manchester. However, before Leeds fans get carried away, there is also a twenty point gap between Manchester Utd and Leeds!

Ole Gunnar Solskjær's side ripped Leeds apart 5-1 on the opening game of the season, similar to the 6-2 mauling the season before, but Leeds tend to be a differentkind of animal at home. They were credited with a respectful goalless draw at Elland Road last season, a game which Leeds has opportunities to take all three points.

Aside from Beckford's heroics in the 3rd Round of the FA Cup in 2010, Leeds need to go back twenty years since they last beat the Red side of Manchester (in the league). A Harry Kewell goal midway through the second half was the difference between the two teams.

Leeds will be without Stuart Dallas at the weekend. The versatile utility man limped off during the opening stages of the Everton game, to be replaced by Leo Hjelde. Earlier reports that the teenager is likely to retain his role may be premature. Bielsa will need the experienced duo of Robin Koch and Adam Forshaw to start which will see the German dropping back into central defence and Struijk switching to left back. Regular left back Junior Firpo is likely to be named on the subs bench after a sustained amount of time, out with a hamstring injury.

In Bamford's absence, Daniel James is likely to be asked to lead the line, with Rodrigo in a supporting role! Gelhardt again will have to make do with a seat on the bench. The soon-to-be 20yo hasn't kicked a competitive ball since the 2nd January. He had an ankle injury which kept him sidelined until the Newcastle game four weeks ago, but hasn't been called upon prompting speculation he was one of the ten who asked for a loan move last month.

Raphinha is expected to return to action on the right wing, after being rested for the second half of the Everton game. The 24yo has been unable to replicate his form prior to the International break. It is hoped the rest will do him good!!! Captain Liam Cooper, and England midfielder Kalvin Phillips have both returned to light duties.

The visitors hope to have Raphael Varane back after illness, Victor Lindelof stands by. Edinson Cavani (groin) and Nemanja Matic (shin) are both doubts, as is Eric Bailly who was injured during International duty last month. Brazilian pair Fred and Alex Telles both returned to action against Brighton midweek after Covid. Both are expected to start.

The slumdog millionaires aren't pulling up any trees at the moment there form is very average, I would be reasonably satisfied with a point given our recent shipping of goals against them but I'm sure that our boys don't need to be reminded to be "up" for this one...... we need a performance guys

firstly, enough of the "ten away" speculation, it's unnecessary

Rangnick is a Danish, and he seems to be turning Scum into doughnuts

Leeds are going to fk them up!

Gonna pull you up on last seasons 6-2 defeat @ellandback. That was a great game and although scum edged it we could have scored 10 ourselves that day. The first game this season was OK first half but they destroyed us second half. Last season, although losing 6-2, we were very competitive.

The players owe us this season. The fans have been great for them. Beating scum would go some way to rewarding that support.

Hopefully we have a day where we click rather than the days when we can't pass a ball. If we turn up we can still give anyone a game.

Scum are not firing but neither were Newcastle or Everton and they are better than both. For us its the matter of which Leeds United turn up the Villa Leeds will give us a fighting chance the Everton Leeds we will get tonked.
I think the lads gave so much at Villa it affected our performance at Everton it happened earlier in the season when we got robbed at Chelsea and Arsenal spanked us at ER.
We are very inconsistent but we have to start finding some form because we are getting dragged to the bottom. Hand on heart I believe we have enough but we have to start showing it now it's crunch time.
The club have took a massive risk in not recruiting anyone in the Jan Window and bodies are still dropping Hjelde out for 3 weeks maybe more. Dallas is touch and go. Raphinha has lost his Leeds United boots. Klich has lost his legs.
Our injury situation is dragging us into a relegation fight and we have taken a massive risk in hoping what we have left can pull us out the shyte.

Free hit his one lads 'n' lasses.

Rest assured everyone at Leeds united will be doing their utmost to get something from the game but when you're playing against the big boys you also need a bit of luck and the rub of the green.

Enjoy the game and enjoy the occasion as these are the days to be savoured after 16 years away.

We have no striker, a bunch of wingers who can't beat the first man when crossing, no midfield but the optimist in me still believes that we can pinch it with a bit of luck.

Burnleys new striker gives them the lead at Brighton.

We ****ed up big time in January.

    Edit...

Burnley now 2 up with new striker a goal and assist. That's 2 assists and a goal in 3 matches. Still, at least we have Tyler Roberts.
