I agree and Matip will keep his spot this season, I think he's experience is needed but next season Konate will replace him as first choice.

That was the clichéd, classic, old fashioned away European performance. Weathered the storm and defended when required and made the most of our chances.

Don't want to say job done, but we should have more than enough at home to...smash'em.

They hit the bar first half when we were arguably better and that was their best chance. Don't recall any miracle saves or close calls.

Thiago was poor tonight and Trent didn't even bother

The ref congratulated vidal on 2 or 3 fouls almost.
Ignored 2 yellows minimum and give very odd frees against us if they rolled about

It was strange, I expected theatrics and loads of complaints from the Italians, but there wasn't much.

He tried to let the game flow, but some challenges that he was happy to let where astonishing. I'm not comfortable using the word biased with a ref, I live in hope that it doesn't occur, but he certainly seemed swayed toward inter.

He was very chummy with them in the tunnel before the second half. It doesn't mean he was biased of course, but it looked odd.

We forget that yes maybe Italian lesgue isn’t as strong anymore but this team are second and half lost only twice in the league.

One away to lazio and once at ‘home’ to ac milan which im Not sure home advantage really works.

Can’t imagine they lose many home games so to come away with any kind of win, let alone a relatively comfortable 2-0 win is just quality in grand scheme of things.

That's I wouldn't say he was amazingly biased, but he let a few things go that I thought he shouldn't have. It's more like he gave them the benefit of the doubt. Than anything else

Tbf that tends to happen a lot in Europe in general
What annoys me is when we get the ref that wants to stick it the the home fans
    Cue second leg lol

    Inter 0 shots on target.
    Liverpool 2 shots on target.

    Sums up the game really.

The most important consideration tonight for me is something that has been bugging me since I noticed a few games ago:
Who is the member of the coaching staff that looks like a Klopp understudy?

Can't lie I groaned a little when hendo and naby came on with Diaz, but what a masterstroke from klopp that was, as the game was ours to win from those subs.

Diaz btw, offered a liitle bit of unpredictably we were crying out for, he was all over, left right middle, gonna be such an important asset for us going Into the future

The game needed Hendo's experience and drive - the midfield was disorganised. Elliott is a great talent, but he's not yet ready for a leader's role.

Funny but I thought it was a really good watch, when the stat came up at half time saying 0 shots on target I thought they'd made a mistake.

Inter had their moments, but all in all up until the first goal it was a reasonably even contest.

Some great passing moves, good chances created as well as some very strong defensive performances.

Tonight was all klopps credit imo.
Those 3 subs changed & won the game.

Cant remember klopp ever making 3subs in 1 go before?
