They weren’t tied As I’ve said many times He had no fuxking clue what to do The Allams splashed the cash with Pearson and it was offered to barmby he had no idea His career since backs that up And they splashed the cash after barmby Nicks been a singular character throughout his football career very few friends Never mingling or mixing Just runs home to Mandy all the time
His career since suggests after the way he was dealt with he had no interest in managing again. Again, Bruce's first signing was a Barmby target, so the Allams clearly had no issue with the players, just the manager making the decisions.
Where his first signing was a Barmby target.. Clearly they had no confidence in a rookie manager identifying talent, which is fine, but they're the ones who opted for a rookie manager in the first place.. it's part and parcel. Either you tell him from the get go that he won't be in charge of transfers, or you back him to get them right. You can't have it both ways.
He is a stubborn sod, remember he never spoke to his dad for 20 odd (?) years. Despite Jeff having more early influence on his son's career than almost any recent professional sportsmen. Not judging either btw, but he (and Jeff) are very clearly stubborn, which is more than likely why Nick achieved what he did.
What ****jng roles?? The England job probably Olm said he’s been offered roles oh ok It’s not like loads of ex players say it’s a struggle to get a job anywhere is it And they’ve applied for loads but don’t get an interview But nick cos he’s so brilliant has loads of offers Gtf
Jakupovic first came on trial to the KC in the Spring of 2012 when Nick Barmby was manager. He had left Greek club Aris and wanted to move to England. Barmby’s sacking a couple of months later looked to have scuppered those hopes, at least in terms of joining the Tigers. But once at the helm, Bruce revived the East Riding club’s interest and Jakupovic duly signed a two-year contract. https://www.yorkshirepost.co.uk/spo...s-hull-city-back-hero-eldin-jakupovic-1797798 So Bruce 'revived' the interest Barmby had had that was doused with Barmby's sacking.
I'm not having it either way. I don't know what happened behind the scenes with Barmby. Just stating the fact that the club wasn't skint so there probably were funds available. Had no idea Bruce's early signings were Barmby targets. Where did you find that out?
Because he wasn’t cut out for a career in coaching in professional football? Gary Neville is another who dipped his toe into coaching and decided he was more cut out for punditry.
I can keep linking old newspaper articles or you can find them yourself. I do have to start doing work at some point.
Sorry, the 'you' I'm referring to is the Allams, not yourself. They appointed a rookie manager, left him in charge of signings (by not making it clear on appointing him that he wouldn't be) then didn't trust his targets. See the article linked above. Jakupovic was a player Barmby wanted to sign and I believe had lined up to sign that coming window.
