Really good.

 

A learning experience for Elliott.

He tried hard but was pulled about to expose the rb slot. Once henderson came on that all stopped dead in its tracks.

 

Have to say I was worried by the start of the 2nd half, but VVD and Konate in particular dug in when needed and Klopp reacted well to the situation.

All in all, a professional away performance.

 

I love the way VVD has been channelling his inner Diego and spent about 10% of the game shouting abuse as TAA

Fairly crap game but job done fairly comfortable in the end .

It was certainly needed he had a terrible game. But it don't matter the scoreline is all that matters.

thought Elliott looked a bit lost tbh . I would guess at least 80% of his passes were backwards

 

Wore them down in that last 20 mins.............good competitive game.

Konate very good

 

It's a big game and he's young he'd have learned a lot there.

Experience. Elliott has the talent, the rest will come with time hopefully.

 

We forget how young he is, still learning and he needs to realise that if you can't be brilliant just do the basics.

 

I'm unsure what to make of that, inter ran their bollocks off and gave us a game, but I never thought they looked particularly dangerous.

Thiago looked very very slow, ball played round him, very little impact on the game.

Mo was poor, I thought out if the front 3 he was the least involved, until mane went off and he ca.e Alive.

Trent, oh ****ing trent, gave the ball away, looked lethargic, generally not arsed. When salah is breaking his neck to get into the right back slot and he's trotting back, you've got to think maybe somethings wrong.

 

Yeah didn’t play great but big occasion for the kid and still working his way back. Tbf half the team were poor today. Once Diaz came on and added a bit of energy and Hendo came on to get bit of control and show his leadership and experience (wait am I allowed to use those words @Jimmy Squarefoot ) we liked in control of the game.

 

Couple of bad games in a row for Trent. Don't know if he's feeling under the weather or something, but he doesn't seem to be putting the effort in. Hope that doesn't last long, as we haven't got Williams to bring on.

 

Not our best game, but we won and Konate had his best game so far. Can see him and VVD being first choice, he is a lot quicker than Matip.

 

Thought Thiago defended well second half. One very good block in middle of pen box.

Inter looked most threatening second half without actually creating chances. Mainly was just getting some decent crosses in when getting out wide but Konate and vvd dealt with pretty much everything.

 

On the plus side, Diaz looks ace, always on the move. Virgil was imperious, konate was fantastic.

At one point their attacker had virg one on one, looked up seen who he was up against and just give up.

The ref was odd

 

Konaté's a bit of a beast, and I can see him inheriting the role, but I think Klopp still sees Matip as first choice.
