Against Everton: We had Cooper missing, if he was available he wouldn't have started as Koch and Struijk look stronger. We had Firpo missing, he has looked gash the majority of the time he has managed not to snap, Dallas played LB plenty enough last season We had Phillips missing We had Bamford missing That's it really, throw in the fact we had two players available that we never had last season in Forshaw and James and there is no way we can blame injuries now, Everton had 5 first teamers out.
So if the first number is games played and the second points achieved, what happens if each team plays the right number of games? and not just Citeh, Sham, Scum and Brentford.
I think I understand what you are getting at it's just following the basic logic we should be top three!!
Evening, I hope Bielsa and Orta are watching Saltzberg tonight , in particular Aronson, live wire, fast feet, looks to have a good engine on him, just had Bayern keeper make a good save as well to boot, why the guck we didn’t buy him and lone back I don’t know?????? Is Bielsa going?? We are not confident as a club staying up?? Sorry it’s time the club get loyal with the fans, they have been with you Mr. Radz.
It's certainly frustrating that we can't get deals for top young talent like Aronson, Ben White etc over the line. The fact the club haven't had any season ticket money since March 2019 is definitely a factor and it's probably why we'll see a significant amount of investment this summer. Just hope it's not too late.
Because we couldn’t afford to pay what they were asking. Financial reality so we can’t criticise for that surely.
I've no idea Eric, because as I said in the post, the site didn't list all those re arranged games, and I didn't have the inclination to go and look for each teams remaining fixtures specifically and then do the manual calculations to amend those automatically generated on the site I used. However, given as you asked, and to keep it simple please find enclosed a revised table below. Table based on us getting no points from our two remaining games, whilst everyone else would get maximum points from whatever games they have remaining (and yes this is impossible, but this is the worst scenario based on my guesses). All I am interested in is whether with my totally best guess estimations, we stay up or not 1 Man City 38 102 2 Liverpool 38 93 3 Chelsea 38 87 4 Arsenal 38 68 5 Spurs 38 66 6 West Ham 38 65 7 Scum 38 62 8 Brighton 38 55 9 Wolves 38 54 10 A'Villa 38 54 11 Leicester 38 52 12 Southampton 38 48 13 Everton 38 47 14 C Palace 38 41 15 Newcastle 38 41 16 Burnley 38 38 17 Leeds 38 37 18 Norwich 38 33 19 Brentford 38 29 20 Watford 38 27
OK well given that we have stayed up, reviewing my predictions from back in February is not the chore I thought it was going to be 1 Man City 38 102 1st 93 points 2 Liverpool 38 93 2nd 92 points 3 Chelsea 38 87 3rd 74 points 4 Arsenal 38 68 5th 69 points 5 Spurs 38 66 4th 71 points 6 West Ham 38 65 7th 56 points 7 Scum 38 62 6th 58 points 8 Brighton 38 55 9th 51 points 9 Wolves 38 54 10th 51 points 10 A'Villa 38 54 14th 45 points 11 Leicester 38 52 8th 52 points 12 Southampton 38 48 15th 40 points 13 Everton 38 47 16th 39 points 14 C Palace 38 41 12th 48 points 15 Newcastle 38 41 11th 49 points 16 Burnley 38 38 18th 35 points 17 Leeds 38 37 17th 38 points 18 Norwich 38 33 20th 22 points 19 Brentford 38 29 13th 46 points 20 Watford 38 27 19th 23 points Predicting who's going to finish near the top is not exactly taxing, although I didn't anticipate Man City dropping as many points as they did, but only one out with the Liverpool total, so not to bad. Russians invasion of Ukraine hadn't happened, so I expected Chelsea to get more points than they did. Only 1 point out on Arsenals total, but spurs pipped them for 4th place. West Ham kind of fell apart and thus ended up 9 points less than I thought, where as Leicester got exactly the same points as I predicted but finished 3 places higher. As for ourselves well I went for us finishing 17th on 37 points (although I thought I had said 38), but I had us staying up a lot easier than it ended up in reality. What did I get massively wrong. Well when I first did the prediction thing, not all the fixtures had been re arranged so some teams still had games to play. I had Newcastle below us at the 36 match stage, and credit to Wakey, who said that they would finish well above us and let's be honest I got that totally wrong. I didn't expect Everton to perform as badly as they did, thought they had good enough players even with Fat Frank in charge to be comfortable. Also I didnt take into account the effect Christian Ericsson would have on Brentford and thus they didnt get relegated as I thought, but had a comfortable mid table finish. Also I seem to have mixed up Southampton and Crystal Palace as Southampton got 8 points less than I thought and Palace 7 points more Obviously with Brentford not going down, that means a team I thought would be safe did, and all I can say is thank **** that Burnley failed to get the additional 3 points that I thought they would get. Whilst I had Norwich going down, I thought Smith would have got them some more points and thus they finished 11 points lower than I predicted. I will take some comfort though in the fact that with all my lucky guesses, we finished in the same position, with one more point than I expected. So all you watching nervously this afternoon, you should have put your trust in me In all seriousness I was expecting to hear about a Burnley equaliser all afternoon, whilst we failed to capitalise on our opponents having 9 men. Anyways bring on next season, and look forward to my lets guess where everyone will finish after the January Transfer Window closes , in February 2023
