Maybe they bring the age for any competitor up to 16 or 18. If they bring it up to 18 then the athlete is an adult and then has to take full responsibilty. And in this case she would have been banned.

Lets be honest the Russians, Chinese and Americans (and the rest) have been abusing young girls for the Olympics forever. The average age for 'Womens' gymnastics is probably only about 15 or 16 and we've all seen the problems thats had in the US. Constantly China throws 13yr olds into the diving, the pressure that puts on a child to deliver a gold medal can't be good for them

Incedently if she wins a medal, not only would there not be a ceremony, but she would not receive her medal until she can prove her innocence and stays clean for a period of time.

She tested positive in a test that Rusada supervised so not sure why you are having a dig at Wada .

My point is she's a 15 year old in the middle of the whole thing. I dont really care about all the rest , just see where a minor is in effect being abused here.

We've knighted one of our sports cheats <whistle>
The IOC made the mistake of allowing certain Russian athletes to compete under a different name, they all should have been banned.

totally agree they are all at it.

we had the child in the skateboarding thing and it was first a joke competition and second 11 year olds REALLY???

but then again i find it mad we have labour laws to stop kids being exploited but tv shows with kids cooking, singing, dancing or whatever are all fine?

mate, I want to bad children being dragged into a very adult world that they simply don't understand and won't unitl later on when they are on the scrap heap.

some **** is pumping that child with drugs... thats despicable behaviour.

even the media pressure and attention on this is absolutely cruel on a child.

theres absolutely no need for it.

Agreed, No Russian team under whatever name.

Then the only Russian athetes that should be allowed are the ones who train outside of Russia, have no contact with the Russian olympic officals, are tested by WADA and can prove they are clean. And then they can compete under the Olympic independent banner.
It would remove Russia from any team events and they wouldn't feature at all on the table.

Cos your comment has shag all to do with the specific case and sounded more like general kids should compete for their own good.

There is the Youth Olympics. Kids can compete against other kids with way less pressure.

Welll..... drugs SEEM on the face of it to be saying she needed a little boost to stay up past her bed time.

It's a child in the end and while it's all well and good we don't get to see where the vanish to or what trash pule they end up on.

Wayne Rooney was old enough but look at the state of his story (that he seems to want to profit off)
