CRIXUSS ESCAPE 3.15 Wetherby 9/1 each way – Ran better than for a while when runner-up at Newcastle last time and he's had a wind op since, so I expect he’ll be back to his best very soon.
15:15 Wetherby - Timeless Beauty (Yeats mare needs to bounce back after poor effort LTO at Lingfield 26-days ago. Cheekpieces left off this time. Should not be inconvenienced by soft ground, but not so sure if going turns to heavy? Adrian Heskin on board for the Fergal O'Brien yard.. 15/2 best price at time of writing, and is generally-available. E/W probably best option.)
173 views and just 2 comments Are people just shy or have they got nothing to say? I assume there is a basic interest in horse racing (otherwise why would people view the thread?) so I really don't understand why more people aren't posting. Same story yesterday: Maybe they are all just looking for Swanny's tips?
Hi OddDog, I must say I’m probably one of the above mentioned, however, I have been registered to this site for several years and like to read everyone’s input on the thread. I will start to put the odd horse up now and again but my advice would be not to back it as I’m a rubbish tipster unlike some of you guys.
Doesn't have to be tips mate, can be questions / thoughts / comments too. I think there is a lot happening in Horse Racing at the moment and it is always good to hear people's views and thoughts. This is a forum for discussion, not just tipping (and none of us could hold a light to Swanny in his current form )
I used to put up the occasional fancy, or indeed enter a comp or 2, but got fed up with the SirBarelyCapable snides. Now I read what the intelligent folks put up as I've still much to learn about the game; but just ignore the rest.
There is always the ignore feature if you don’t wish to read posts from a particular user. Honestly there are many very knowledgeable posters on here but I truly believe it is a very open forum and everyone’s contribution is both welcome and appreciated
"Honestly there are many very knowledgeable posters on here.." Completely agree, Oddy. (Unfortunately I'm not one of them) I think it was Oscar Wilde said something along the lines of "best to remain silent and let the world think you a fool, than to open your mouth and remove any doubt". Thus I remain mostly silent.
Oddy, I've never posted on the general chat area of this forum in my life but when I logged on the other day on the main menu (directly above Horse Racing and Betting) there was the general chat forum. Noticed the most recent thread was one called 'Coronavirus. Just Coronavirus' and the most recent poster an old user of the Horse Racing Forum. Cor blimey when I clicked on this thread, to see what he was up to these days, it would appear there were more of our members on this thread than were on the entire horse racing forum. Quite amazing. I wonder if people have moved en massse to that thread! Look the Daily Thread has undoubtedly dwindled from its pomp (over 1,000 posts a day I seem to recall on the BBC). Maybe, time to make it a weekly one??? But then again things should pick up with Cheltenam on the old horizon. Well probably...
It’s like the Rocky Horror Picture Show over there on General Chat - even Ron is posting. Quite saddened at that.
Yes, it was him I was actually referring to. Saddened is deffo the word, incidentally, after reading some of the things he he has said on that thread. But I certainly, certainly, certainly don't want to dwell on that. I have this eve written a piece re a horse due to run at the weekend. Will publish it should he be declared tomorrow. Maybe that will stimulate debate. Who knows?!?
Thank goodness for that, there's no place for politics on the racing section of this forum. Use the General Chat if you want to join-in that sort of 'entertainment'. Meanwhile, good luck with your 'favourites'.
