Given the very real possibility of his defence being put to the test by either turning up the central heating or putting a Peloton in the courtroom, there was only one way out ...well, technically two, but the second involves an orange jumpsuit
So, for the avoidance of doubt, Johnson's 'defence' to avoid a fine for breaching COVID regs at these parties is that...checks notes...he wasn't so pissed that be couldn't go back to work afterwards! https://www.itv.com/news/2022-02-15...nce-to-the-charge-he-attended-illegal-parties
With a possible WW3 about to happen fuel costs going through the roof ,the Post Office scandal, billions lost to fraud the BBC spend the day talking about Djokovic's refusal to have a jab , the even had a 1/2 programme at 20.30 tonight about it ffs
Yes, apparently our taxes are mainly spent as follows: NHS 20% Social security 18% Inquiries into shenanigans involving BoJo 14% Education 11% Payments to Virginia Giuffre 8% Defence 5%
Don't forget Keeping West Scam in a stadium they can't fill, but who cares UK Athletics got a shiny new stadium 3%
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-60369875 I hope every one of those responsible are convicted and jailed from the top down , this is a national disgrace , they knew what was going on and lied to protect themselves
I can't quite decide if this is totally bonkers or an amazingly good way of relieving rich people of money... https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.indy100.com/amp/moon-privatise-adam-smith-institute-2656671298
That doesn't add up, unless the remaining 24% is used to pay compensation to wrongly convicted post office employees following the Horizon scandal. Seriously though, whatever you may think about where the Giuffre payment is coming from, there is an order of magnitude greater payment being paid by us thanks to the incompetence* of the Royal Mail management in getting 736 of their own staff convicted based on their own IT error (and continually doubling down on the error when it was known about). I really hope some of the management end up in jail. They won't, but it would be fitting of course. * I say "incompetence" because English doesn't have the words for what they did
This is the most horrific scandal imaginable. My experience of the Post Office is that they can’t deliver post to the right address. I expect I’m not alone. If they can’t put a letter through the correct letterbox, why were the police and courts so willing to accept their competence when it came to software? Why did nobody join the dots when it was on such a vast scale? Who’s surprised by the truth that the Post Office got it wrong, ignored countless pointers that they were wrong and then denied being wrong when it was obvious?
The Post Office and the Royal Mail are no longer the same company. The PO and Fujitsu appear to be at fault, but I doubt anyone will end up taking the fall for it.
