Sounds less like damage control and more like attempted clarification to me. Presumably if Donald and Methven are happy to sell but haven't yet, they're holding out for a price that KLD isn't happy to pay.

I am alone in not being outraged by this?

I've supported SAFC for decades not having the first clue what the ownership structure looked like and that didn't stop me travelling to games, investing time and money, cheering and more frequently cursing them. We have been abysmal for around 10 years now and yet here I am still.

So KLD doesn't have a majority ownership - he is however running the show and for the first time in a long time there appears to be a very small chink of light at the end of the tunnel.

I am not done with this club and my trust has not been broken by KLD (Maggie Byrne came an awful lot closer though).

This is not a dig at anybody - people should do what they think is right - it is simply a statement that not everybody is outraged at this.

  3. It's not a case of pissing someone off though,it's more a matter of what his intentions are. He has the same shareholding now as when he became involved and has a seat on the board. What we don't know is if he intends to sell to KLD when the other two do or if he intends to stay for the longer term. There was talk of a tie-up with a Uruguayan club in a sort of development relationship, which he would undoubtedly have been involved in. He's wealthy in his own right and has married into vast wealth. On the other hand, given the toxic relationship both Donald and Methven have with the fans,is he their proxy on the Board for the time being until all three can facilitate an exit?

We need to forget Sartori exists. He was brought in as a distraction and is still playing the part. He will NEVER be part of us going genuinely forward.

Pure speculation, but I'd have thought that Sartori had more in common with KLD than Donald and Methven, both through their connection to French football and due to moving in much wealthier circles.

  6. Indeed. He may even have introduced KLD.

    Agree.

Madrox was (iirc) originally named as a mixture of Madrid and Oxford due to the Spanish backers. SD then moved the goal posts and the Madrid part of madrox backed out.
This put SD in a quandry and CM brought in Sartori who he knew from previous dealings enabling Madrox to buy the club.

In my opinion it became quite apparent that Sartori lost faith in SD quite quickly and pulled away. Sartori then found KLD to come on board to dilute SD's influence. To me it's pretty clear which side of the fence Sartori sits

He may have. My general feeling is that Sartori isn't as bad as the other two.

Yeah 'still value' I said. It was valued too high at the start and is still valued too high now.

I remember reading somewhere (sorry, can't remember where) that SD (likely when the parachute payment ruse was thought up) cut (most of - ie all but JS) the Madrid faction out totally and went his own way. Then we later learned that JS's shares were given to him for nothing - for an unspecified reason, thought to be provision of financial clout enough to secure the takeover passed the FA/EFL test of having enough money behind it to guarantee they could run the club.

This being so, JS has put minimal money into the club and I doubt he is any better than the chuckle brothers - bringing in KLD to boost the value of his share holding whilst having to put minimal money in himself.

So basically SD wants what his shares MAY be worth should we get promoted, rather than what they are worth now?
Is that the gist of it?

IIRC Sartori was said to have Injected around £3M into the club around the time He acquired the shares at minimal value.
As to whether those two transactions were connected I couldn't possibly comment :emoticon-0102-bigsm

If someone bought at that price, it was acceptable to all parties surely?

Can't get worked up on this shares issue, i'm more interested in what happens next. The atmosphere was very toxic last year and KLD and advisors had to manage dealing with the owners and not paying too high a price and most probably shifting sands whilst manage us lot who were baying for blood. They would have known keeping this lot involved was a big problem but so was giving them money they didn't earn or deserve.

Eh it's about the remaining shares. Not what was already agreed and bought.
