Money, but maybe you're right. Personal opinion, if Acun and Shotta either believe we can build a team around them, or think their contribution to the promotion effort next season will be worth more than their current value, it will be worth holding on. If not they'll be better off selling now and investing in building the squad before we're ready to challenge for promotion - my guess 3 years - and developing more local talent
Nothing like McCann we are better at defending set pieces than we ever were under MCCann and no trousers in spite of them both being defenders in their playing careers
We always have done. Elder's a bloody good player. Last summer our chief scout mentioned in a podcast that bigger clubs were after him. It's ridiculous how much City fans talk him down.
I think the idea is that the basis of the squad will based on the best of what we currently have with a few cherries in the cake. If the new owners get the right contracts signed then there's no reason that couldn't be so.....
These players are good enough to keep a team up in this division. We need players brought in with Huddlestone’s level of experience but who can contribute on the pitch. Don’t want overpaid ****e coming in though. Was just looking at how experienced their side was today and thinking if we had 1 or 2 of them I reckon we’d have beat them. Players like Norwood are so good at this level but can help the younger lads too.
I don't understand the no trousers bit, and Arvo was a striker not a defender. However I was simply referring to the fact that McCann had to abandon his preferred back 4 and revert to a back 3 because of injuries. Just like Arvo might feel he might have to. It was a light-hearted remark.
Acun saying he wouldn't sell even if offered more than 20m in January suggests we don't need the money..
He did sometimes but he was jus so stubborn on the way we played we had the discipline we’ve shown in the last 2 games.
Perhaps I should have phrased that as "we now have two Championship calibre left backs". I don't think Fleming was half this good last time we were in the division. Promising at the time, but not proven. I'd say he's now in that next rung.
Hope there was no one watching him tonight... Unplayable today against 2 of the best in Basham and Baldock.
We can hold him to his deal for another 18 months before it would significantly detract from his sale value. I hope in the meantime we become a club he feels he can fulfil his ambitions with.
Yeah definitely Scott. Wouldnt mind seeing what Shota did with Wilks but also wouldn’t bat an eyelid if he was moved on.
A real show of ambition would be if Acun managed to convince KLP to sign a new contract of an additional 2 or 3 years on top of what he’s got left now.
