Yep we have a very good defensive record overall, just would have liked the experienced CB for when we're fully under the cosh like against Stoke or Derby. Need someone to guide the younger players through those hot moments. Then again we were up against it tonight and pulled through so you could be right. Our bigger issues are definitely up top.
Point on the board. Improved performance. Clean sheet. Run of defeats halted. Goals will come. All good. Onwards.
Forss isn't physical enough for that lone striker role. Eaves isn't always brilliant but he does take defenders out of position and makes a nuisance of himself and breaks up play, Forss looks like he can be ignored when we're playing a shape like tonight and when we're under the cosh a bit.
Decent point tonight which we’d have taken before the game. Going forward is where we look out of our depth, we are relying on a lucky bounce and then catching them on the break. There’s no real creativity or guile, at times in the first half we couldn’t get out.
Good point, if we'd brought in that experienced one, which of the others would have been denied the opportunity to find their feet? Hasn't always been pretty but we have some defenders that would now be considered "of the level" that maybe wouldn't have the opportunity if we'd have brought in a Davies for example.
Shota’s clearly come in, played around with the squad a bit and sorted outed the basics. We look better defending, especially at set-pieces. I do worry a bit where the goals will come from but overall I’m fairly optimistic. QPR lost again so hopefully we add to their misery.
Tonight wasn't the night to be judging what we have up top,we were always going to be under the cosh going there,Forrs has been here a fortnight and he's been crucified already..Piss Poor!! There'll be bigger and better teams going there in the next couple of weeks and coming away with sweet **** all.
Would love to try Allahyar because no one gets close enough to either of them to be effective. At least Allahyar can spin and use his pace. Eaves and Forss were both more useful in our box tonight then theirs
I was talking in general, not tonight. Our defence is as good as any in the division (judging by goals against on the table) it's our goals for that need work.
Suspect tonight's performances from KLP and Greaves might end up improving the bank balance in the summer, hopefully for Acun to re-invest.
Just what I was thinking during the game. It seems like a few really are growing up fast, boys to men, with a bit of nous and steel about them.
Not to be too harsh on Lewie but I don’t think it’s a big blow. I think we look miles better when he’s out of the squad if I’m being honest.
I think a lot of people are hoping Allahyar's going to be our trump card, me included. I hope we're right. It'd be good to get some news from the club about the extent of his injury.
Absolutely, the concern though is as they are still young players, they don't yet have the consistency in their game that age and experience bring, which is why we see the dips in concentration in some games.
He's a 10 or wide kinda player though. Think he'll start Forss again in another 60/30 with Eaves. Lad needs games to get sharp. Then again he could go 60/30 Eaves with Forss playing the bulk of the past 2 this week. Don't think there's a lot between the 2 at the minute anyway based on what we've seen on a match day.
