I agree with everything you say ........Other than the fact his name is Weghorst and he is better than Wood
I dont give a **** what his name is tbh thats about as much time and consideration into him and the opinion that he is somehow better than Wood.
He's looked about the same as Wood (fairly ****), but cost £12.5m less. For the record, I always said Weghorst was crap. I just didn't feel Wood was any better - and still don't.
He's a 1 in 2 to 1 in 3 in Bundesliga, and 1 in 2 in Erdivisie. ****e for the national team (Holland) zero goals. Thing is we never bought him, we bought Wood and therefor its Wood that will get my support. Couldn't give a **** if he doesn't score if 2 others do.
I love the mental attrition but: Mental Attrition involves attaching positive thinking to realistic goals...
Results since Wood joined: D, W, W, W Points gained: 10 from possible 12 Goals Scored: 6 Goals Conceded: 2 Pressing gone through the roof led from the front. I rest my case.
0 Goals 0 Assists sub 50% pass rate But he has: won some headers and has a great work rate off the ball granted and I do WANT him to do well but I can't see it. In those 4 games he's missed a free header from 5 yards out putting it over the bar, lost the ball on the half way line that allowed Watford to equalize, cushioned a free header into Pickford's arms against Everton and had a wild swing from 25 yards on Sunday, and I'd suggest this is about average of what to expect. He'll do well to get 7 goals for us in the remaining games but if he does I'll get a "touch Wood" tattoo with him celebrating his 7th goal or his cross-armed interview - your choice
I like Chris. However I’d put Wilson straight back in and also hope we have Schick and Adeyemi next season
Also coincided with Trippier joining, but I agree Wood is doing his job well, his presence gives us something that clearly hasn't been there for a while, with Joey and ASM out of place up front previously.
True and he is working hard and I can't fault him for that but we've been lucky to have the team shaping up exceptionally well recently. Jonjo is playing much better, Fraser has played arguably his best 4 games since arriving, Trippier has been immense, ASM was pure fire vs Everton 2 or 3 out of the 4 games, Lascelles and Schar look like they've remembered how to defend, Burn was rock solid, Manquillo has played well when in the team, Target looks a great fit, Willock is back on form and Joelinton is the best CM to have ever played the game somehow. There has been quality all over the pitch and for me, IMO he'd be the weakest link. In Wood's defense I think with Wilson/another CF up top alongside him he'd be more potent and he needs a strike partner. He had chances and who knows maybe he just needs one to bounce in off his arse to get the ball rolling (excuse the pun) but as a goal scoring threat so far he's been poor and I'd expect a lot more from a £25m striker. Let's not kid ourselves though, he knows, the board knows, the players know, we know - he's not a £25m striker and cover until Wilson is back. He'll be worth the money though if he gets one goal that keeps us up though.
Nah just leafed through it at Waterstones for a laff, may purchase it if they start rationing toilet paper though.
