    Man of the match.

How refreshing to see a CB shouting and organising the defence.

    Byeeee fist bumps.

A 9/10 for me. He was brilliant and he’s one of our own.

    Schar played well also.

    But he’s a good signing.

Eddie definitely seems to have a clear view on the type of player he wants.

Hopefully the DoF will have similar views, especially if he had owt to do with Burn going to Brighton in the first place.

Him and Schar look really good together. Assuming no injuries Eddie has to start with them next game. Potential issue is Trippier is out so could he think that lacelles needs to be bought back to wear the armband?

Burn's much better technically than I realised. I think I'd mainly seen him play left back, which given his frame and the modern game probably isn't ideal for him. He looked really good on the ball. I think we've snatched a bargain with him. Him and Schar is the way forward, with Targett and Trippier at full backs. On paper it doesn't look amazing bar Trippier, but I think there is a really nice balance to that back four and they can all play.

Hopefully we have an agreement with Aston Villa to sign Targett permanently.

I wouldn't be against it but I suppose we have to think they will be going big this summer so may have designs on others. That said I like what I saw in his first outing.

The problem is outside of the serious world class left backs who in the next list would we be looking at? I genuinely can't think of anyone and if Targett continues how he did in his first game and following on from being Villa's player of the season last season then I'd be sure happy with that.

It'll be fine mate. We will have proper scouts with proper budgets, we will be like a proper club and find some gem from abroad.

Don't we still have Steve Nickson?

Targett is 26 (27 in Sept), so is younger than the likes of Feds, Schar, Tripps, Dummett etc, and we definitely need some younger players in amongst the experienced ones.

Only played one game for us so we'll have to see how he does over the season, but if he does we'll I'd certainly be open to signing him on perm.

For now...I reckon that department will be getting an overhaul. Or perhaps they want to see what happens when he's allowed to pick from the top of the list instead of the bottom.

I think if he was there with another full back (who may come from abroad), we would be in a decent slot. I keep forgetting we are allowed two in each position now.

It depends really - if we sign another flash LB for big money, he ain't gonna stay; he played every game for Villa last season and clearly wants first team action rather than sitting on the bench. He's only currently here on loan so no obligation to stay and if he keeps his form up he won't be short of other offers.

I think Lewis may get the boot if we're looking to go to the next level tbh.

I like the look of Targett and Lewis might actually learn from an actual left back.

Obviously if we can get a worldie then I'm all for that
