thats what rivalling city means unfortunately. They are uninspiring, packed with midfielders but pep sorted the back line out and they are very tought to get a goal off now so they are not losing many but also not drawing many

We could go on a run like that anyway but it'll take some doing.

Is our match with Man City at Anfield or the Empty'ed?

It’s almost as if we actually know what we’re doing and we do it well.

Hm need more context for it to mean much. Level of opposition would have an impact. Other players available etc.

Weve all agreed Elliott has been very good yet has 7th best percentage so can’t read into it much. Think we’d all be annoyed if started Thiago Keita and ox in a midfield 3 based on this as well

What is everyone’s preferred midfield trio …

    mine would be;

    fabinho
    Thiago
    Naby / Elliot (RCM)

Out of curiosity, why Henderson? (Without using the words - leader, captain, experience)

    Agreed.

no issue saying it as you have the right mix of urgency and attack from Elliott with control and positive passing from thiago plus fabinho's a goal machine ;)

jones is alight but theres now end product or quick passing at times and inconsistency.
Henderson enables taa to run infield but in theory elliotts can do this as well so while he drives and runs elliott does it just as well.
milner is there for filling in.
Ox did alright as RW with some idea where to go to get on the end of robertsons crosses but at RCM he is not for me.

for me naby is alright but a steady player rather than an intense player like elliott. With thiago in there i find that midfield nice but one paced and i'd inject the intensity form elliott as my first first choice.

Agree about the intensity - that is what we need from the RCM and Elliott looks perfectly suited (albeit from a small sample size). Keita can do it but looks a bit more reserved but then you can get a performance from him like the man united away.

    some very good options available

Out of curiosity, why Naby without using the words pressing, passing or creativity

I actually agree you shouldn't be using experience as a quality and being captain shouldn't guarantee a starting position either, just find it amusing that you'd remove leader and try to restrict someone's response

That’s a good question. It’s Because I’m more interested in the ability on the ball and on the pitch. Intangibles such as Being a captain is hard to quantify and it’s hard to see how it translates to our performances

More consistent, has played in numerous big games so has the knowledge skill to deal with those occasions. Drives the team and is a very good talker and organising and encouraging team mates. Is looked up to within the squad and offers a lot to the team.

It also depends what game you’re talking about. If your saying it’s the champ league final then that’s my 3.

If it’s a home game v Norwich then I’d prob go differently though as each game needs diff strengths.

Im not sure why you can’t user words experience and leadership though? That’s like saying why would you pick Fabinho but not allowed to use the words tackling and positioning. Or why pick Salah but not allowed to use goal scoring.
