Not related to this particular debate but I did find those two defeats to Wolves particularly frustrating.

They're my new team to dislike. It's not a player or their fans particularly, it's all the diving and play acting that get's my goat.

Nice to be talking about who we can catch as opposed to what we need to pull away from the trapdoor! And compared to last seasons corresponding results we are now +15 points!

I had a look back to try and pinpoint / remember where the malaise was this season

No win until game week 8 was part of it but the fixtures were generally very unfavourable. We should have done better at Newcastle and got hit with a smash and grab against wolves at home - but other than that it wasn’t too below par. A seasonal comparison of similar fixtures helped with sanity there

The real point was early December when we contrived to lose to Norwich, threw away a win against Brighton late on and got comprehensively beaten by Arsenal and Liverpool. With seemingly no real fight in the former despite arsenal not being what they once were. With chances created we should have beaten Norwich and Brighton and maybe even Leicester for at least 5 more points than we got

Some more positive results over Christmas and then the takeover announcement and things have been a lot more positive
Interestingly, this poor run coincided with no Broja.

Hopefully after this run of games, we will be safe from relegation.

Anything over that is a huge bonus considering where we were at the start of the season. Ralph has done an incredible job.

We are safe from relegation now. This last weekend just gone strikes me as being instrumental as to how the season will pan out. Newcastle have some initiative behind them and, even without Trippier, you sense they will put some distance between them and Norwich, Burnley and Watford. I feel that with the pressure off, we will pick up more points although I feel Everton will beat us. They seem to be a bogey team for us. However, I really feel we will push up the table. I said in August we will finished 10-8 on the league and I still feel that is on. This is especially the case as there is not much difference between the teams in mid-table.

I think Fats did 6 in a row once, and Laces may have matched that or come close.

Any other claimants?

I did from the end of one season to the next. Six from April 2016 (Newcastle H, Everton A, Villa A, City H, Spurs A, Palace H) and then the next season I did Watford H, then our eventual loss to Man U (A). So that is 8.

Luckily that was before my negative bets so I wasn't declared bankrupt in mid August that year.

EDIT: Fats is the one we remember because he bloody went on about it for years :)

I had a 6 match unbeaten run, consisting of 4 league draws with Man Utd, Man City, WHU and Newcastle, plus 2 Carabou Cup wins, including our record away victory at Newport.
Let down by our poor performance against Wolves.

And the previous team to dislike was ...?

Teams, I quite often have more than one on the go. I also like to rotate my contempt just to keep things fresh but it can be because of a player, a club or fans, there's no strict rules. Used to be Liverpool because of their whinging fans and manager but strangely they don't irritate me as much these days. Still don't want them to win anything though. After years of disdain I've warmed to West Ham mainly because Moyesy is ok and that arse Noble is near retirement. Not keen on Leeds or Villa fans but nothing I can't handle. The main protagonists are obviously Man Utd and Spurs but Wolves have joined the list this season.

I agree with you about West Ham. Would like Manchester City to win PL.amd CL! Not fond of Chelsea.(arrogant fans), Manchester United, over-rated by the media for many years, even. when Ferguson was there, Real.Msdrid and Barcelona.
