Just from watching him previously he isn’t of Eaves size so can’t bully centre halves like he does. He pulls off his man to get the ball which is a different option to Eaves which is why I’d want to see them together as he’d be very close to him which sometimes is the issue
I actually think we may have been 'loaned' a dud... a bit like Walsh... time will tell... but Allahyar is supposedly like lightning and TE would be the perfect foil for him if thats the case...
A dud? Brentford don’t sign duds. He’s barely played yet, we can’t be making statements like that just yet... But hopefully we see something soon. As for Allahyar heard he’s not pulled any trees up in training yet. Hoping he’s better in games
Sheff Utd to win by the odd goal in 1! Year of the Tiger is **** so far, don’t see anything other than relegation!
Just put the phone call in We’re playing 3-1-2-2-2 All out attack and strong defending too Apparently the lads love it and it will confuse the **** out of the piggies
That wouldn't take much doing. It looks like their carer has been reading this board to them. https://www.s24su.com/forum/threads/pre-match-view-from-hull.89814/
Clarification there that they really don't see us as a rival at all!! And to be fair, why on earth should / would they? Yep, I know all about the history, but we really are nothing of special interest to them. Even makes us look a bit small time when we try to up a rivalry that really isn't there. The problems of being at the end of line, never establishing ourselves at the top table (for bigger clubs to be that interested), having only relatively small lower league clubs in a local-ish area (yep, I know that for some years Grimsby and York were at the same or even higher levels, but then normality returned). Maybe it's another thing that hinders our following to a degree as there just isn't that intense rivalry of say the North East, Sheffield, Midlands, etc (or even FC / KR). No real rivals and no real anthem, more's the pity. <expecting pile on from usual culprits but there you go>
Sort of on topic worked in Sheffield full time for ten years. Met loads of fans of both teams through work but when asked did they go most said they didn’t !! Explains the Wednesday crowd at Wembley . Recall all the duels of the seventies which were a challenge on the streets . When both the Blunts and us were really crap in the late 80’s I think we drew at theirs and after a crap crowd we came out and were followed by 4 of them shouting ‘do you wanna battle’ a few streets later they got one they didn’t expect . There’s only so much crap you can take from blokes chucking bricks . We had a 70 year old bloke with us and a youngish lad who were getting bothered in the dark . They ask why some of us don’t like them. !!!
Sheff U at home was always a bit of a derby game and an obviously big day out for them because they always brought plenty of fans with them. I was a teenager on the South Stand when they first started coming during the 1970/71 season so I remember them well. They almost outnumbered us at home. This waned a bit during the 80's when both clubs saw their gates diminish. Remember the Burnley away game and the rumours that 'thousands of Sheff U are here supporting Burnley'. When it was probably about 100. We bumped into some of them on the way home and this time it wasn't schoolkids v men as it was in 1970. I don't have a problem with them at all, only the memory of a couple of thumps around the ears in the early days. The Wembley FA Cup semi final was something special though. I will be there tomorrow as I like Sheffield and must be one of only a few on here who have seen us win there twice in the league. 1970 and that last minute winner from Jimmy Bullard on Boxing Day a couple of years back. Still do a bit of business in Sheffield. The Blades fans I know don't go and the Wednesday fans I know haven't been to a game for years. The Owls fan once invited me down for a big cup game, I was in Sheffield so I met him, he let me park my car on his driveway. We went for a pint, then he gave me a match ticket......and went home himself to watch it on the telly !
Similar times and experiences for me too , like you saw both games I had neighbours who went at that time but soon packed in a year or so later- one got cut on the hand from a sharpened coin - in the seventies ! Loved the Bullard goal - I’d just been made redundant from my Sheffield employer and he was a blunt - so it was an up yours moment . I recall their tannoy guy announcing at the end when we lost 2-0 ‘ around then Quinn’s ores for them , ‘’ the In form team beats the form team ‘ classless twats ( truth or not Adam Pearson wouldn’t have allowed our announcer to say that sort of thing . God am I bitter !!!LoL
Difficult one to call this. Blunts. SY Scum. North Derbyshire Scum. Turds. ****s. Horrible ****s. Blunt ****s. Think I’ll go for City 3-0 All of the above.
2 down then got it back to 2-2. They got a late winner from a corner from that former Everton defender. You'd have thought they'd won the cup.
Sorry to hear, Ron-Jrr has had his second negative after testing positive last Tuesday, its going round schools at the moment...
