Apologies if already posted. Links to HDM article, with a further photo (not the one in the Twitter picture) of Nick sat alongside from Acun.
He's doing all the right things.... I hope for all of us as supporters and for him as an investor his dream is a huge success... To get NB into the fold training would be a coup...
Think it's great that Acun is building bridges between the club and Nick. But I don't necessarily buy the 'get him on the coaching staff' pronto' argument. Prepared to let the owner see if he thinks Barmby would fit in with the coaching structure which it seems to me is now established. I have no idea whether Barmby has progressed as a coach in the last 10 years. He was treated harshly by the Allams but I was always a bit surprised he didn't bounce back and prove himself (and learn) elsewhere.
Not everyone wants to coach. He was burnt by his experience with the Allams. The way his public perception was shaped by them and their message while he had to just take it on the chin. Andy Dawson was asked a while back what advice his mate Barmby had given him about getting into coaching and he said Barmby had simply told him not to.
Why was he He was a manager who had no clue what to do His career since confirms this Nicks been a loner most of his football Iife Why the **** would anyone consider him for a job now is beyond me Same with windass
Bit boring but if it’s money no object in. The summer it would have made sense to buy some quality players now rather than ones were getting rid of in the summer and let new quality ones bed in for the promotion push next year
A tad harsh, coaching isn't the only role for them, Barmby & Windass are better on the inside than outside the club, what better local ambassadors?
Surely both Barmby and Ash have more to offer than 'just' being ambassadors! But agree with Kingston, the 'fit' has to be right with how Acun sees things.
Windass hasn’t a clue he coaches Sculcoates Amateurs a Humber Prem side and they think he’s ****e. Barmby’s last coaching gig was Wyke College First Team. I want good coaches with existing pedigree as a coach, not ex players who’ve never coached before. Agreeing with you again for the first time in days
I would like to see ex players involved with the club too but we do have a chance of a clean start. Be nice to have them as match day ambassadors ect though..
He was lost we had a good side he couldn’t make changes and was like a rabbit in the head lights He turned down the chance to sign billy sharp He’s done absolutely nothing since then and isn’t the easiest to get along with Why would anyone in their right mind want him in a coaching role
Get Ian Ashbee involved. The guy is a legend who City have never been able to replace on the pitch. Captained City from Div 2 to The Prem. Thats the sort of person young players look up to & listen to
