Watched some of it this morning...like watching paint dry...way too stop and start. Its not hard to see that despite many attempts it really hasn't become a global game of note.
Aussie rules is an appalling game. What sort of sport has 36 players and several referees on a pitch. Ridiculous. Constant whistle blowing. It's a massive headache. I had a season ticket the first year I was here
In rugby you do have set pieces of a scrum and line-outs. In American football its as if you have a line-out and scrum every minute or so, which after 15 secs of play stops. Its all set plays for a few seconds no continuous action. The coach and his playbook plus the quarterback are the key figures One of the criticisms of Jones the present England Rugby coach, is that is all he wants is set-plays!
Refs absolutely robbed the Bengals blind. Biggest robbery I've seen since Saints were cheated out of a Superbowl a few years ago.
used to hate watching anything from america, the constant stops to 'hear a word from our sponsor' plus far too regular adverts made a lot of stuff unwatchable...the passball would be far better if they had a limited time to get the next play under way and feck the adverts.
