See I just don’t care about the money everyone bangs on about how in order to win the league you have to be consistent for 38 games over - what 9 months? To win the CWC you have to be consistent over 38 games to earn the right to be consistent across - what 14 games then you have to win an extra two a season later so your side has to be performing well over three seasons I think it’s an amazing achievement Only x amount of trophies available per season - and I want us to win as many of them as possible Money is for the business people not me
Well..... that's fine but really it's really the richest clubs who get into the cl every year almost automatically as 4 clubs get in so it's really about winning the cl which is not easy. It's not "impossible" that man utd could win the CL this year after being absolutely awful and not even finishing top 4 in league. They could buy 20 players and win the world club next season then. I say not impossible but it's highly highly unlikely that side gets past 3 good sides to get to the final.
It’s one of those things that’s nice to win if your in it. But no one else rest cares about because they’re not in it. In same way I don’t care who wins the Europa league. Or who wins the papa johns trophy because were not in it. It’s not seen as a big trophy but yeah you have to win stuff to get in it. But then same can be said about charity shield and super cup. Have to win the champ league or Europa league to get in, or the league and fa cup but no one is overly fussed about them unless you actually win it. I think as we the fact that it’s only 2 games, devalues it a bit. You play against some random African team then generally play against a Brazilian team as they’re always the best.

Newcastle now 4 points clear of the relegation zone and possibly even looking at 10th as a reasonable target. Relegation battle is done bar leeds/everton utterly falling apart. Battle for 2nd even just about doing as lfc have 7 points on 3rd placed cheslea. The 4th placed west sham are miles and miles away.
It doesn't matter what you have to do in a separate competition to reach it - it's still nothing more than a show-piece competition. You have to win the PL or the FA Cup to play in the Charity Shield, but it's still not worth a carrot as a trophy.
I think its more the level of opposition involved. There's no real achievement beating some club from africa/Asia, then the best South America has to offer. I think there's only been 2 or 3 tomes in the last 20 years the European team hasn't won. It would be like us being entered into a mini tournament with tranmere, marine and Everton, you're expected to win, a bit of an embarrassment if you don't.
West sham don't want 4th. That puts 4th a genuine 14 points away now with spurs and arsenal unlikely to make that worse for us. Could be the lowest total points for 4th in a long time.

It is and it isn’t For me it’s a great trophy to win imagine drawing Man City/Barca/R Madrid in the Semi Final of CL or City in FA Cup Winning and then meeting Tottenham in the CL Final or Sunderland in the FA Cup Just cause the oppo aren’t up to it doesn’t diminish the cup itself when qualification is winning your top club comp that’s why I like the super cup and the Community Shield for a comp is a comp if it’s affiliated lol
