Tbh many of us expected or feared this result and type of performance.
Prior to these three games we played
Everton (poor at the time), Leeds, Brentford, Norwich, Liverpool, Southampton, Palace, Watford and Leicester.

The two most difficult matches were Southampton and Liverpool. We struggled to create v Everton, struggled to finish against Liverpool, Watford and Leicester.
We were comfortable v Norwich result wise (appalling team but they caused us problems), Palace were woeful and had 10 men for nearly an hour and Brentford were pretty meh tbh.

Liverpool, Chelsea (x3), Southampton (x2) and Wolves all play their own style, are good passing teams, are defensively sound, work hard for 90mins and play with belief.
From those 7 games our record is
    P7 W0 D2 L5 GF6 G13

The only decent team we have beaten is West Ham in the cup and they could/should have won that.

Think we are basically gonna limp on to the end of the season and a lot of very painful decisions will have to be taken.

For example, are we willing to take a huge loss on Lo Celso, Clarke, Sessegnon, Ndombele, Doherty, Sanchez and Doherty?

Are we going to give up on Winks, Hoejberg, Tanganga, Royal, Bergwijn, Rodon or Moura?

Are we going to sell Kane to fund rebuilding the team (cos the above sales are going to being in nothing)?

I am not arguing for him to be sold btw, think we need him but the stories about him will absolutely be ramped up and he may well kick off again.

There is a huge amount of transfer work to be done and the answer to these questions will decide if Conte stays and how we move forward.

As for this season...it's gonna get much, much worse imho. We still have West Ham, City, Liverpool, Arsenal, Man Utd, to come which could all see us battered.

I'm afraid this is the death knell of the last and arguably most hopeful quick fix. When Conte was hired, I posted elsewhere something like:

"It's asking a lot of this squad to destroy another manager on such short notice. But I have faith in them."

Spurs needed to follow the model established by many others, including Borussia Dortmund, Ajax and Southampton. While the degree of success and many of the details depend on the club's resources, the basics are to continually buy the best young players with money used by selling senior players at the right time.

Not following that model because they thought they knew better, and seeking for the most part to hold onto their key players until grim death, Spurs have ended up with a stale squad that's beyond hope of revival, and beyond the powers of any manager to fix. The irony is that this strategy was overseen by a group who was otherwise very good at business decisions. But this unique strategy in squad building, which amounts to a strange intervention of businessmen in football management, has proven to be very, very costly, and quite possibly disastrous to their business prospects.

Skippy will be back soon...we hope. Out of our 8 losses this season, he's only played in 3. Without him and Dier, we are properly bad at the back and in midfield.

That said, we're not finishing in 4th...and probably not in 5th or 6th either, because the squad's bloody rubbish. I just hope that we don't end up in the bloody ECL again. I'd rather have a clear season.

There are times in your life when you realise that football is actually not that important in the big scheme of things. This has been one of those weeks in my life, but football can help you out in dark times 'if' your team plays well unfortunately this bunch of useless of tossers have done all they can this week to make sure that i remain as low as posssible -

Thank you THFC sometimes I really hate you.

i don't think you have a choice but to sell Kane.

If you don't sell him in the Summer, he's deffo walking for free because i can't see him signing a new long term contract to stay at Spurs if he wants to win anyting, hell even play in the CL. As much as he loves spurs, i think as a competitor he would love trophies and money more.

Mid table teams are catching up and taking us over

    Downward spiral

I'll totally give up on us achieving anything whilst ENIC remain, once Conte has walked

Nothing will change at Spurs until everything changes from the very top, the one common denominator in all this shiete show of the last 20 years is ENIC, Lewis and Levy. They do not care about fans or trophies, all they care about is maximizing their investment, they have used the once great Tottenham Hotspur Football Club to build an entertainment venue and property empire in London.

I just feel sorry for the mugs who continue to turn up, and purchase the most expensive tickets in world football, I wish they would stop giving these parasites their money, because that is the only language they will listen to. The gap to the teams at the top is getting wider each season and the gap to the teams at the bottom is getting shorter.

There used to be a football club over there.

We ain't mugs ... we're fans like you.
You is entitled to your views but do us all a favour and stop belittling those who go.
I ain't been in a while but once I've recovered from covid hope to go again...and it ain't right to be called a mug for supporting the club through the bad times.

Sorry to sound like I'm lecturing but I don't think any fans deserve scorn for supporting the club any way they choose.

From what I've read I totally dodged the bullet today , we took the grandkids to the pictures to see Sing 2 , not happy going in at 13.50 delighted from reading what happened after the game , watching the kids enjoy that was far better for my blood pressure than putting up with our excuse of a football team

    Cheers mate.

The headaches are finally easing of but am knackered all the time.
Used to walk an average of 6-7 mile a day and regularly walked 9 or 10 a day.

In the last 2 and a half weeks I have walked maybe 7 miles in total. Yesterday I find 2 and a half miles in total over two walks and today 2 miles in two walks and I am shattered <yikes>

Luckily for me it's half term so am off but was off sick for last 2 weeks...never had more than 4 days in a row in the last 39 years of working!

But weren't in hospital so could have been way way worse...just glad I was fully jabbed tbh.
