Trippier was an inspired signing. Old and getting ready for retirement though... According to fans of all other teams. Currently looks to be the best right back I've ever seen play for us. By a mile.
Thoughts - Trippier is God, Joelinton awesome apart from the yellow card, Manquillo did well shame he's off, Burn has fitted in well straight away, Wood a bit too desperate to get his first goal but still is decent, and apart from a few bad passes, Shelvey is nicely controlling it from the middle. Villa seem to be intent on policing Maxi, but the rest of our team is taking advantage of them focusing on him.
I'm liking how the league table is looking, how things currently stand. Hope we and Liverpool both hold on to these leads.
Whilst I agree I would like more possession. And I worry about Joe. He’s on a yellow and he is fired up. They all are. Wood needs that goal. He looks like his confidence is shot and the pressure is getting to him.
To be fair, aside from wasting that shot, I thought Wood's overall game has been really positive. He's really putting their centre backs under pressure and they don't look comfortable at all at the back. He just needs a goal and I think he'll be flying. Even just a lucky deflection off of his knee will do.
Those 3 in the middle have really had a rocket put up them by the realisation they are playing for their place every week now
I worry about Joe on a yellow he plays with a bit of grit. Howe risked jonjo for an hour I wouldn't risk Joelinton. Bruno time sadly at Joelintons expense..
That’s what I mean. He needs that goal to settle: he’s done ok today. He could do with an easy chance. I think the price tag is playing on his mind a little.
