I was thinking more for Defoe, Roberts, maybe Onien as well. Players who will need extra fitness to have an impact. Neil, Doyle, Cirkin etc dont need it, they need a break.
I think to be fair mate some of our players need fitness work. We have brought in Defoe and Roberts, as he said, who havent played. Defoe looks a fair way off to me. I think they will need to be working on that fitness. I am not talking about running hill repeats. But they need game fitness in my opinion so I would be doing extra indoor 5 a side or futsal with them and some u23s. I would really push them at intervals on that basis, 5 minute halves, 8 minute halves, u23s play with extra man etc. Nothing builds match fitness (fast turns, 3 yard sprints, speed of thought etc etc) than old school 5 a side off the walls.
