IF Bielsa said no to those players, it was for a reason. In Beeks case I'm guessing it was a lack of football (fitness) and from what I've seen he doesn't really have much pace or that good an engine. Let's face it, he wouldn't have featured. Is he better than we have? Sure. Does he know the system? No. With Aaronson he said yes and I'm guessing again that it's because of his engine which would compensate for his lack of understanding of the system. I trust Bielsa and his judgement but it's clear to everyone that there needs to be changes in the squad. This lot have hit their ceiling, are no longer improving and some are showing signs of ageing. A big summer is needed in the transfer market (if we stay up) and if changes are not done then big questions should be asked of the club and its ambitions. The main thing is survival this season. We gambled in January.
Exactly. Phil Hay wrote an article about it because it was in the Daily Mirror and that's mainly because Mr Hay has realised he has no inside track at ER. Previously he always only reported facts as he thought himself close to the club and indeed he usually seemed to get a heads up when we signed someone etc. That relationship has obviously soured somewhat and as he's paid by The Athletic to write about Leeds United he's resorted to reporting more on speculation it would seem. To be fair he's a good writer and personally I enjoy reading his pieces but I definitely wouldn't take anything he reports as gospel these days unless confirmed by the club.
That’s actually what ‘itk’ Phil Hay does. He doesn’t really know anymore than us lot on here. Only people who know are those who need to know.
If you believe that fine. When questioned it was stated that “Bielsa did not want to burden the club’s financial department further with options he did not deem a necessity.”
So who is this Leeds spokesperson? Whelan? I ask because we have had absolute secrecy since Radz arrived when it comes to the transfer window. You seem to believe in stories that 'journalists' fabricate by making things up, or simply wild guessing. Just shows what allegiance you have to the club when you prefer to believe a fairy story with no 'facts' whatsoever when the club is renowned for not commenting.
Clickbait I know, but I like the little comparison of touches in the game (both 13 touches in the game - Dallas in 9 mins, Roberts in 45). https://motleedsnews.com/comment/bi...berts-could-cost-him-his-job-at-leeds-united/
I was very much in Roberts corner at the start of the season. I wanted to give him this season to see if he was a slow burner. Although he had a couple of OK games around Christmas he just hasn't cut the mustard again. He needs to go for the good of the club, Bielsa and himself. Go and play for Cardiff. Take Shackleton and Greenwood with you.
Watched the game and if Watkins goal that var deemed to be offside was clear and obvious( that var was brought in for ) then it is definitely time to bin....farce
You forgot the time he puts in being the representative ambassador for equality and discrimination. The lads taken too much on. He should forget about football and concentrate on the things he thinks really matter in his life
I once got the inside knowledge on a Leeds signing, even before Phil Hay, when we signed Ormerod on loan. I sold his house. He wanted to join permanently, but he got injured on loan.
Bury your head in the sand all you like, I've noticed with you that whenever you disagree with someone you have to question their allegiance or support. When it suits you then you need hard facts, when it doesn't you'll happily agree with printed reports. You didn't believe 10 players asked for regular football until it was pushed under your nose because you didn't want to believe it. If you watched the interview you would hear Bielsa question who is leaking these stories to the press. That was in reference to Summerville being allowed to leave if a replacement was brought in. If you only want to deal in hard facts, Bielsa has said he only wants players in who are better than what we have at the club. He obviously feels Roberts is better than anything we could find, he obviously felt Roberts had more chance of scoring than Raphinha or Joffy second half he admitted it was a mistake to use Klich, he admitted several games back it was an error using James as a sole striker and the funny thing was he has continually used him in that position
But Bielsa knows best and there were no better players to sign during January despite all those around us doing decent business
