Some of the comments regarding Bielsa are quite frankly embarrassing kneejerk reactions to a shocking performance. I appreciate that these comments are down to frustration, but ffs lads, if Bielsa does leave next season, who will replace him and what kind of football style will we play. My only expectations for this season is to survive and kick on from there the following season.
Let’s hope so, I’m beginning to get very concerned that we are going down. I also just don’t see what Bielsa sees in Tyler Robert that no one else does.
Here is a hypothetical question for you, well everyone…. Imagine at the end of last season Bielsa had called it a day. Imagine the guy taking charge this season wasn’t Bielsa it was anyone else, how would you feel about the season so far? Would you say this new guy was any good or would you be screaming at the decisions, the expenditure of James, the refusal of taking Van De Beek, putting on Roberts when you’re two goals down. Leaving better players on the bench and playing players out of position. If this was any other coach in charge this season we’d be screaming to get rid of him. Someone pointed out a few weeks ago, Costa wasn’t a waste of money, his job was to get us out of the championship. The same could be said about Bielsa, he’s done his job, we’re very grateful but it’s time for the next level. I believe Bielsa has the ability, he is held back by his mentality that makes him different from the rest that those who play under him need to be humble, they have to believe in him without question, they need to almost eat and breathe football and his loyalty. The thing is, this isn’t the 80s or even 90s this is modern day football and footballers, the football world of Sky TV and greedy agents and big transfers and wages. It’s why with less resources Bielsa shone in the Championship. Look at Pontus and Pablo, rather than manage them Bielsa took the hump with them. BTW I’d love nothing more for Bielsa to remain and be proven wrong. If he doesn’t have his contract renewed I’ll still be worried over the new guy.
copying my post from Friday for everyone: “It’s Leeds we’ll lose at Everton, leading to much gnashing of teeth and tears. Then Get thumped at home by the scummers as they hit an unexpected return to form… leading to cries of bielsa out and mass suicides amongst the fan base then we’ll win at Liverpool with a Tyler Roberts hat trick You heard it here first” It’s too late to get full benefit from the milkyboy accumulator… but still time to get your bets in for matches 2 and 3!
