I don't think anyone's deluded mate, I don't think you believe they are tbh. And, as far as I'm concerned, Neil has 1 point from 1 away game ... ... it's not fair on him to drag the past into the situation. You wanted Johnson out, surely you have to draw a line under his results and back the new manager.
Big week ahead. Will be interesting who gets minutes in the u23s game this week. A win however it comes and some of our big players close to returning will change the mindset overnight.
I am backing the manager. Not sure how that post can be taken into the land where I am not? That said, the club as an entity has to get back on the positive grind now. It really does, fan base is starting to get a tad pissed off.
Results is the only way positivity returns - got to get the 3 pts next week by any means possible. Things can turn for the better as quick as they’ve turned for the worse in 2 weeks, ffs we could have went top if beating Bolton.
It's a bit like asking most fans who Joe Lewis owns, 90 percent wouldn't know because the other bloke is constantly mentioned instead. lol
It would make sense - maybe 45mins for Defoe and an hour for Roberts. Needs must for match fitness then they will have to work on their sharpness. Hopefully got 17 games left so could still make a big contribution.
Going all the way to Wimbledon to sing that is ludicrous. I'm sure that, when it eventually happens, they'll tell themselves it was their protest all those years ago that lit a flame that grew to an inferno.
Shows how far we have fallen this season when I’m hoping Rotherham beat Sheffield Wednesday today. Our collapse has been pathetic
Well that was ****e, the positive being we didn’t lose( it was never a penalty either though). I’m starting to think the players are actually crap but played above themselves up till November. I’m not judging Alex Neil till the end of the season, he’s by on a hiding to nothing with shot players.
Depends what his remit is. If it's to continually talk to the press and divulge every bit of negotiations then he's clearly failed ... ... as we've changed manager and the window is closed I'd be pleased if they just get on with the football tbh.
Haven't read the whole thread so don't know if this has been mentioned but our new manager has taken one game to see the imbalance within the team. Too many youngsters being carried and looking tired and a bit jaded, Speakman bringing in experienced players who haven't really been up to it, Evans and at first Pritchard who took time to get fit, and now Batth is apparently injured and Hoffman is missing/injured? We've relied too heavily on young lads who really needed to dip in and out of the starting eleven, if we don't go up then the real test will be to hang onto those who are contracted to us to give it a real go next season. Our failure in the transfer market, whilst we've picked up some good younger players why have we got so many wingers and are short in defence especially at full back. Yes injuries have crippled us but Speakman must be held responsible for leaving us in a bit of a hole. Neil has a proper job on his hands so let's see how he manages, securing a play off spot would be success in my view then see how we get on from there. After the Bolton game for two days I was tempted to pack it all in but this is Sunderland and it's in the blood.
Good post - think Pritchard has been a really good acquisition personally and in fairness to Speakman we probably wouldn’t have got him if he had been in form at his previous club. Saying that he needs to go and a real director of football brought in, I agree.
I know how you feel mate, but truth is I’m a part time supporter anyway so I can live with the bit of effort I put in anyway
