Just got back from the game we kept the ball well but had **** all cutting edge. Forte is a league 1 player at best he was woeful and why Adkins kept him on for 68 mins is a complete mystery. Adkins did not have his best night as Saints manager he waited far too long to bring on Barnard, Lambert and Guly. But Forte has no place in Saints for me, he simply isn't good enough. It wouls be beneficial to him to drop into league 1.

i think forte was out of position but the fact he isnt included on the bench when we need a striker doesnt exactly show adkins has much faith to me

If Lambert gets injured we will plummet down the league because no one else can score goals on a regular basis like he does

You know what else has got to go? The Carling Cup. It's so pointless.

It's not like he's a regular in the first team though. I don't think he's once been in the matchday squad for a league game this season, and arguably wont kick a ball in our first team for the rest of 2011 now.

So whilst I do agree that he isn't good enough, I'm bothered enough to bang on about getting rid. Unless he becomes a disruptive influence at the training ground, it's just not an issue for me.

Ok maybe a loan spell will do him good - regular first team football at least

Summed up perfectly by st-brendy, he doesn't deserve being kicked out, like he doesn't deserve a look in on the league campaign.

"If Lambert gets injured we will plummet down the league". That remark reminds me of that sketch Harry Enfield used to do. He started off by saying how much he admired someone (say David Beckham), then gradually worked hinself into a rage saying "But if he tried to fondle my daughter, I'd get real mad at him ..."

Cheer up ole mate, we're top. If you can't enjoy that, what can you enjoy?

Cheers Fremantle. My daughter lives in Sydney - is that near you? Excuse my enormous ignorance.

Forte was awful tonight, should have been off at half time. No end product. As much as I enjoy the patient tiki taka we do need a bit of direct play now and again.

On the up side, Cork and Schneiderlin were a different class, they bossed the pitch. It felt at times like two senior players joining in for a reserves game, showing them what it's all about. hang on, I guess that was kind of what it was...

Would have been an easy win with the first team in action, looking forward to the re-run in the league fixture

Well people on here have also called Guly, Davis and Fox awful so far this season, so I reserve judgement. I think he was just a backup buy and he scored two crucial goals when we needed him to last season.

Reserve judgement til when, when you watch the highlights? I said he was awful tonight, not in general. Have seen him play better on the wing.

I think it's a bit harsh to say he has got to go. He was pretty awful today but he has shown some flashes of brilliance on occasions. My concern is that he is 25 now and I would've thought he would be showing more consistency at that age.

The thin is he needs to prove himself at say L1 level, show what e can do and he will gain consistency...

He needs to have a stable club and be playing week in week out <ok>

Once that happens then I think he will grow to be a better player.

I also think that the 5 sub ruling has something todo with lack of action this season...

Fremantle is about 2500 miles away from Sydney (west coast vs east coast)

I am guessing FreemantleSaint may be referring to the suburb of Southampton though, in which case the distance would be more like 11000 miles! :D
