Aye. Think he was too matey with Speakman anarl. They both used the same kind of gibberish instead of English.

Agree mate. One or two of those are some way off but we tries to solve problems we didnt have in the tfr window in my opinion. Signing one of Clarke or Roberts but not both I would have been ok with. Selling Hume and Flannagan without replacements didnt stack up to me. I was on record as saying Defoe wasnt the answer - really hope I am wrong. Batth, Hume and Matete were good moves. We are where we are though, lets find a way to give them the best chance to play with freedom and confidence. In my experience young lads just need to play and feel no constraints.

In the second half, drawing away from home, I had three lads behind me singing,

"Donald and Methven, get out of our club."

No wonder I pine for the daft old days when you didn't even know who owned it <laugh>

I am not sure we know that mate do we? I have read other posters on here saying the players hated him. I have spoken to people who say he is the type to back his players to the absolute hilt and protect them at all costs, so you may be right. I dont want to drag Johnson back up to often, but everyone knows my view on him, I think I would have loved to play for him, but who can be really sure unless we are working with him 7 days a week.

It's an odd time to be a Sunderland fan when we are wishing we had Flanagan and Hume in the team

… but not really used them. KLD was questioned a while back if he would be investing into the first team. He seemed very defensive and said it wasn’t just him that should have to invest. The rest of the ownership group should have to do so.

Just available mate. I think Cirkin could do with a break but he is now our only LB. I think Flannagan is a better option on the bench that Xhemajli. I do take your point though, we need better than both to exit this league.

Agree on both points. During the transfer window when some lads were slagging the club for selling Flanagan and Hume with no replacements I was defending it saying there was no chance we wouldn't replace them because that would be madness....... clearly I was wrong

Ah well. Last pint on the way home. Had a canny day with like-minded mates, a few loonies round us at the match, laughed at the section of home support getting kicked out for being Mackem’s. What was all that security about, Womble muppets?

Anyway, we’re pretty ****e. good luck Alex turning this team around. You need time and a few less midgets/kids to play for you. You might just hit the play-offs with momentum but no expectations from me.

Time to grab some wine on the way home. Enjoy your nite folks.

He was right to say that.

But this raises the question of partial ownership by a minority, and whether or not they are obliged to match any such investment , by percentage, or if they don't, accept an appropriate dilution of the value of their shares.

It will depend on the deal done for the takeover , but normally I'm sure you would expect the minority to match funding to some degree anyway.

More knowledgeable people than me might know that.

Aye, that wasn’t Trai Hume. Media team travel separately. It was Conor Gardner.

We have got to the point where it’s no longer a case that we might miss out on playoffs if things get worse. We actually are on track to miss out over the course of the season.

need a big step up, not just reverse the last 4 games
