Are we allergic to keepers who come and claim the ball btw? Patterson is another one who looks petrified anytime a ball goes near the six yard box. That feeble punch he made in the first half we just about got away with, and in reality should have been 2-0 / game over.
Feel sorry for Defoe as well, hasn’t had a sniff really other than that half chance the other night. Stewart looks like he needs a rest, he’s been awful lately. No fault of his own mind, we’ve relied heavily on him this season.
He's the only centre forward at the club really. He plays every game. He will be running out of steam, and teams know if you can stop him, the goals will dry up. Sinful neglect by the man who runs the show. He might have a nice management degree or whatever he has, but the fact that he has never played or coached professionally, apart from younguns, explains the lop sided mature of the squad. Good luck Alex. You are going to need it. The team is on it's arse, and you have that cliche dribbling dolt to work " under". That in itself is comical.
Nah we can't right the season off while we are well in the playoffs hunt. Get there and it only takes 3 decent performances to go up or even a couple of poor but lucky ones. Hopefully Neil gets a plan in place sharpish and we can hit the play offs with a bit of momentum every other time we've been in them we feel like we've blown automatic but don't think we will this time.
Good, not happy and some idea of what he needs to do to improve it. Although not much he can do turning some of our 65 wide players into centre half’s unfortunately.
Looking like it, anyone know what’s happened to Hoffman? Has he pissed off back to Germany as was reported on here or is he really just injured?
Just heard Neil’s post match interview. No sucking up to the fans, just brutally honestly. You can tell he knows straight away this lot aren’t good enough to go up.
Absolutely correct. This bloke is a chancer, and the evidence is a mile high that he is under deep water, and keeping us down there with him. The unbalanced nature of the squad was obvious to loads of us, and it's worse now than before the window. That bloke has too much influence, hasn't a clue how to use it, and we'll be going nowhere while he is in charge of things here.
Wow Neil absolutely nailed that post match interview. Unbalanced squad, young players dead on their feet, older players not fit enough. This is exactly what we have seen on the pitch for the last month at least. He makes perfect sense but how's he going to improve that?
Well there wasnt much in the way of football played today. If you cant pass the ball and keep possession you wont achieve much in football. At the moment we seem unable to gain any form of control of a game. We need a base to build from but we dont seem to have it. Earlier in the season we had control aplenty from the likes of Neil, Doyle, Cirkin, Embleton. Now too many players have gone backwards. Obviously today is not on Neil. He will have been a bit surprised today I suspect and I wouldnt be surprised if he is straight in with the old double sessions. It is a reminder, to me, of the unbalanced nature of our squad. When Stewart is struggling there is no alternative. Our wide men are too many and too similar. We lack still that presence in centre mid that brings control. Matete looks a good lad, but I still think someone who knits play together from defence to midfield is needed. Neil was that player but looks a long way from his best. Fingers crossed Neil starts to build some confidence back and gets to know who is up for his asks this week. We can hopefully have a better performance on a new pitch next week. MK Dons are a decent side though (anyone know if our ex multi million pound centre forward is fit enough to haunt us?). Time for a red wine or two. Have a good evening folks.
I'm surprised he's come out and said the young lads look dead on their feet though we can obviously all see it. This lad knew (apart from maybe the Ipswich and Sheff Weds praise): https://www.not606.com/threads/really-not-meaning-to-put-a-downer-on-things.395353/
As honest of an assessment he can make to the press, I'm sure he will not have been as diplomatic in the dressing room. He had very little time to make an impact. This squad of players have looked much better than anyone else in the league let's hope he can discover that in them again because the last 4 games we have been playing like we are bottom of the league quality
Spot on mate, I couldnt renew this year due to business commitments, so is there any chance you can sort me 2 tickets for the play off final as I'm sure Neil is the man to take us there
He pretty well nailed it. And only 40 mins training with them yesterday I have the same worries we know the team is weak physically and mentally. Can he fit the pegs in the holes to sort it. Big ask but we are where we are no point crying over spilt milk at least he’s coming into it with a Fresh outlook We we’re disappearing in ever decreasing circles with LJ
