On Kasper, we can only judge him on what we've seen and he has been very good, the best keeper we've had in a long while. By what you say about him when he was with you, he might have matured since then because we haven't seen the constant berating of defenders that you mentioned (don't get me wrong, he's vocal even by goalkeepers standards but you need that). Judging by the reviews you gave us, it would seem that consistency was a big problem when he was up with you. I think now he has found consistency with us and he's playing well week in, week out. Probably saved us about 4 points already this season.

I think he has all the skills required to be a good goalkeeper. His shot-stopping is outstanding; he has command of his 18 yard box; handling is very good; he's vocal and a good communicator; also has good distribution. I must be honest in the (limited) times I saw him last season, I thought he was an average to good Championship goalkeeper but he really has kicked on with us and if he can play consistently like he has been, I fear that even if we aren't playing PL football next season, he might be.

We've had some tidy goalkeepers in that time but nobody gets close to Kasper. He really has been THAT good. Immense is the word I would use

 

Please tell me specifically where I've said he's crap, I've said he's overrated and not as good as Lonergan but I also said he's a good 'keeper at this level. I would argue your clean sheets are more a result of your defence than Kasper, otherwise I would direct you to our defensive record last season.

 

Not a chance, Kasper is a keeper that would walk into most Prem sides.

6 clean sheets out of 13 and the 2nd best goals conceded record in the division isn't down to the defence. Not when we've had as many shots on goal as you have.

 

If Kasper could walk into most PL sides then Lonergan should have been snapped up by Man City by now. Tell me, if he's really that good, then why's he only Denmark's 3rd choice, behind Sorensen and Lindergaard?

Besides, Lonergan is now 29 and this is his first decent sized club he's been at.

Kasper has been at Man City, Leeds and now us.

Lonergan spent his entire career at Preston before moving to us. Kasper played a handful of games for Man City while being constantly loaned out, was forced to move to L2 Notts County to find first team football, came to us and disappointed so much we forced out of the door to you, hardly a glittering career.

 

I've decided I'm sick of arguing about Kasper, so can we try to get this back on track(ish)?
