FWIW I've heard we want two new keepers in the summer.

They really do have some loathsome players and I wouldn't even include Ronaldo in that. Drama queen for sure but not loathsome imo.
Fernandes by far, and then McTominay and Maguire, just horrible, even Shaw has become a bit of a thug these days. How did he escape a booking? Not that I'm complaining about the ref, I only saw the first half but thought his decisions and how he wasn't intimidated by Utd was spot on.
God, I am more excited by this team than someone of my age should be. The reluctant praise the pundits are having to give Saints is hilarious, Scholes was squirming in his seat and kept trying to turn the talk back to Utd when they asked him "how good were Saints?" Loved it, he had a face like a smacked arse at the end.

If I've got my maths right, isn't it actually 8pts from them this season... unbeaten against them....

Emerson still takes the award for worst opposition defender of the week, but Maguire continues to amaze me at getting bought for £80m. It was literally just so that Utd could say that they've bought a more expensive CB than Virgil. Absolutely nothing to do with Maguire being worth it.

The only credit I can give him is that he wasn't stupid enough to take out Broja and give away a penalty. I was expecting him too.

Never been a big fan of Big Fraser and I sort of agree with you but at this moment in time, I would rather have Fraser than Alex. You don't realise how difficult that was for me to say.

I think it was Leicester who made sure they paid more than what Virgil went for. I expect United wanted him cheaper

Now if you want to laugh at their transfer strategy you just need to look at the two players they bought because they thought Pep wanted them

I assume that one is a third choice and the other is a first or second. Since Fraser, Caballero and Lewis are all out of contract

I don’t know what his wages are but to me Caballero seems an ideal third choice if he wants to carry on

Everton have raised their game, so far this afternoon.
Not sure if that is a good thing or not.

Every purchasing club would rather they could get their signing at a cheaper price. Leicester might have dug their heels in, but no-one put a gun to Man Utd's head. They made the decision to pay it.

Should. Shaw definitely for trying to get Broja’s shirt off him. And then (by the sounds of it) all of the dissent from the big time Charlies (Pogba, Ronaldo, Fernandes)

I saw rehashed rumours linking us with a left back who is playing in Belgium and getting loads of assists. He can also play higher up the pitch. What with Small playing wing back in the youth teams and KWP pushed further forward today I wonder if we are trying a creative solution to the “issue” in the attacking midfield slots.

Rather than be forced to spend massive money as a truly accomplished one will command (see: Buendia) just bring in full backs so that we always have cover their (given how vital they are to our play) and then use them as cover up the pitch

A left back who can play left wing will have more squad utility than Djenepo for example

Also doesn’t automatically block Small’s pathway like a player who could only play left back would

Yes but not just so they could be able to say that they have a more expensive defender than van dijk- which I think was the initial claim

Brilliant game, could have won it. Fantastic effort from the lads but particular mentions for Romeu, and Perraud.

It's amazing how far Utd have fallen. Their ****house tactics and fouls are reminiscent of playing Stoke. This used to be the best club in England. Pathetic

Brilliant support as always from our fans, I know it's a cliche but Old Trafford genuinely is a library, but then again almost everyone in utd colours that I heard today was Northern Irish. It must be nice to have had their success but can't imagine not getting seats because of football tourist's

Enjoy rather than suffer? At my age it’s too late to change. The next four matches are ‘easy’. Still expect Saints to turn Saintsy. It’s ingrained to expect the worst.

Dutch chum asked if I was a happy camper after the recent performances. I told him I had a tent in my trousers watching the Saints play.
