Yeah I have no problem with that. You want Tarkowski/Schar as your 3rd/4th choice centre back really next season. Lascelles/Fernandez/Clark shifted on in the summer with Burn providing some cover for a season. Sounds a bit ambitious but if we stay up everything changes I think. Same across the pitch.

The guys I'd see as starters could be as few as: Trippier, Bruno, Max
The guys I'd see as starters/squad could be: Joelinton, Willock, Dubravka, Wilson
The guys I'd see as back up: Schar, Targett, Burn, Fraser, Woodman

That's only 11 guys. We could see as many as 14 coming in with 8 of them first teamers. Maybe as many as 19 could leave to fund it. Or it may be more gradual with maybe only 7 coming in and maybe 12 leaving. They will be assessing all this but it looks like they aren't shy about making **** happen.

I think you need to be careful about going out and buying 8/9 new fancy players from abroad. No guarantees they come in and gel with each other let alone then cope with the prem.

Hes a decent player and as a freebie would be an improvement on what you have.

Always think back to City and the players they got in early from memory where proven prem players to set a foundation for the foreign players to then come in and work around. Bridge, Bellamy, Given, Barry, plus Tevez and Santa Cruise who were at prem teams.

Going into season with 2 brand new foreign CB’s with no experience of the Prem would be a bold risky move.

This is why I want Tarkoswki. Proven premier league in a solid defence.

I'd be willing to take a risk on Carlos though considering he's part of a champions league quality defence that's literally one of the best in the world.

Tark and Carlos would be my choice.

I also like how we've bought players with PL experience. Burn, Wood, Targett, Trippier etc.

Fortune favours the bold! And we should know after watching so much timidity in our play leaving us with yet another relegation battle!

But we do need some established Premier League experience, we cant just load the team with expensive foreign imports and expect them to go and perform instantly. We also need some proven Prem experience to blend in.

To quote the highly intelligent football expert, Steven Bruce:
"It's about getting the balance right!".

So who can we realistically target from other Prem teams, who will be a genuine improvement on the likes of Tarkowski?

I would have Botman, Badiashiele, Tarkovswski all ahead of Carlos.

Tarkowski is a solid 7/10. He’s getting on but still a good player to build on.

    I like Coady.

There isn’t that many decent centre backs at a young age in England I don’t think.

Botman is the one that would take us onto the next level and would be our kompany signing.

Its just the Italian press reporting Botman has agreed a deal. I don't think that has happened at all - there is no comment from his side. We do need to accept though they have a long standing interest in the lad.

I think we can turn his head and blow them out the water. However it will only happen if we stay up.

I think Botman and Carlos will be the starting centre backs next year if we stop up.

Tarkowski may join too. It would be an excellent mix. Either him or Coady would be ideal so we have quality who know the league in case the former two run into adaption problems.

The Italian press have been about as salty of our takeover as the sunderland echo. For his agent to have agreed terms Lille would have had to accepted an offer as he's not out of contract. It's bollox in my view.

Perhaps we can get them extra salty by taking Kessie and Romagnoli on free's <laugh>

I would have Kessie without a doubt, I don't know if Dybala and Romagnoli would do it in the PL though.

I've seen a bit of Kessie I think he'd have no problem. I think Dybala would be fine, provided you have the relevant players to do the dirty work. Highly talented lad. I would confess I haven't seen enough of Romagnoli to know how quick he is. He looks a big athletic unit. Is he captain?

Pace wise he I'd say he's okay, not slow but certainly not rapid. I'm not saying he couldn't do a job I just don't think after a period of time here he would have the same sort of impact and reputation in England that he does in Italy. He would certainly be an upgrade on what we have.

This being said Botman isn't rapid either. In fact I'd go as far as saying he's slow <laugh><laugh><laugh>
