there has been a lot of unnecessary media-driven speculation about Bielsa's future at Leeds, partly fuelled by his quirky contract and mostly by negative intentions from the Scum lovers ... I'm not too concerned right now, even if the Telegraph's Chief Sports Writer says Leeds are busy interviewing candidates ... we know that NOBODY has access to what Leeds do behind closed doors Bielsa is a very honourable man, and he won't keep Leeds hanging on before deciding last minute he's quitting ... more importantly, there's absolutely no reason for him to quit, here's why BIELSA BALL NEEDS A HOME throughout his career Bielsa has searched for a home where he would be accepted unconditionally so that he could implement his crazy football philosophy for all the world to see in all its glory at Leeds he finally found his spiritual home, a place where he receives unconditional love from the supporters and the City, a place where he feels comfortable, understood and wanted ... the thing about Leeds fans is they get it, and they got Bielsa right away ... don't give us Allardyce or Bruce, give us a manager who sets his team up to play the Leeds way, which is hard graft for 90 minutes without fear ... INTO THEM LEEDS! add to this the fact that the leadership team at Leeds don't interfere, they only support Bielsa as much as they can, helping him to deliver his vision ... Leeds embraced Bielsa fully, giving him absolute control on all football matters and providing him with all the tools he needs, regardless of what he demanded BIELSA'S VISION El Loco isn't as crazy as the media would like to have us believe, it's just his football can look crazy to those who don't watch it every week ... the truth is that Bielsa is a very organised, methodical man ... his preparation is is intense, his attention to detail is manic and he demands exceptionally high standards throughout the club ... Leeds are reaping the rewards of his philosophy, values, drive and determination Bielsa's football, although he's been doing it for a long time now, is still being hailed as visionary, because no other top coach is brave enough to play the way Bielsa does ... the one blot on Bielsa's CV is that he's never been able to stay at a club long enough to see his vision realised fully ... at Leeds he finally has the opportunity to implement his project over the long term, he has his canvas to paint his masterpiece for all the world to see Leeds has been completely transformed by Bielsa, top to bottom ... he's infused his culture into the veins of the club, and Bielsa Ball is the rhythmic heartbeat of Leeds United today, the thing that has pumped new life into the once slumbering giant Bielsa knows his work at Leeds is not done yet, he has much left to complete ... there's a crop of U23s that need to progress into first team regulars, replaced by the talent coming up through the junior ranks ... Bielsa likes to build from within, and he's proving that it can be done in the world of spend spend spend then there's the matter of establishing Leeds as a top ten club befitting it's status in football, a club capable of regularly challenging for European football and eventually the title ... this is not impossible to achieve, it just requires hard work, focus and commitment from everybody, and Bielsa has this culture in place already the Argentinian genius knows he is finally able to work on his masterpiece without interruption, and he is thriving at Leeds ... he is testing his philosophy at the highest level every week against good managers, and he's loving it ... the masterpiece is beginning to be coloured in, it's taking shape in front of our eyes, and it's looking beautiful the artist isn't done, he has at least three more years at Leeds to finish his canvas and complete his legacy, there's no rush to retire just yet
He’ll go on his terms as long as radz retains control… they recognised that they had to shrug their shoulders and agree to all his demands no matter how obscure or seemingly trivial. The Leeds board deserve great credit for recognising there was no point in buying into the philosophy without going all in. And let’s not kid ourselves, bielsa is ‘on the spectrum’ and by most people’s standards, plain dingbats. Forking out funds to organise car parking spaces etc etc doesn’t come easy to hardened business men who are used to making their own decisions not pandering to a crazy professor. But they’ve done what they needed to do… and they let the genius flourish. So. The 49ers take control? What’s the odds on a Jesse marsch as manager… and Aaronson… double sweep to make us americas favourite soccer team?
Top post Billy No club has ever given him full control before, so Radz and Co need thanking because their gamble has paid off. Bielsa doesnt like the free flowing money in football, the high wages, the stupid contracts, the ridiculous transfer fees or indeed the money wasted on coaches/managers who are given 3 year deals, sacked and contract paid out only to get another job and fail again getting another pay out. The useless twat we got from Swansea was paid out £8m in contract pay offs from Leeds, Boro and Birmingham all within 12 months. Bielsa fights against this by having a 1 year deal and as Billy says, its honourable and fair. Why should failure win the lottery. Bielsa has spent many years in charge of National teams so was never chasing cups like most managers, yet when he did he won league titles and even the S American version of the Champions League and FA Cup. Pep has already stated few times that Bielsa is the worlds greatest coach and if he had a Man City type club he would win everything, but he is a man who likes a project, a man who wants to be supported in his quest by club owners. He wants to develop players rather than spend money, he should be a club owners dream yet too many owners want the kudos and media limelight instead of wanting their club to make money
Like you Milky, feel Marcelo will be gone once the 49’s have majority control. But by his own choosing. Think the media have never understood him, what drives him. Think all 3 of the posts on this thread deserve greater exposure. Sadly the media don’t get Marcelo or what Radz is trying to do. Thankfully most Leeds fans do.
I've always felt that the time for Bielsa to leave is not going to be on the horizon for a while yet, but haven't been able to articulate why I feel that way. This article finds the words for me, especially the short extract above. It nails exactly what gives me this comfortable feeling. Bloody hope I'm right!
I feel exactly the same. I wouldn't be surprised if the board realise this by now. It's funny how he's never lasted longer than a couple of season as other clubs. Despite what the likes of Pep and Simone say about him I don't think the sun shines out of his arse like a lot of the fan base believe
Time for some honesty Yes radrizzani Bielsa and co improved us and got us up but let’s be honest after the previous 16 years anything was an improvement If something doesn’t change we are doomed to another 16 years in the wilderness What’s the answer Pay me 6 million a year and I’ll tell you
Here's a question if things don't change how many players are going to pack their bags and leave the club? cos I can tell you the likes of Koch, Llorente and Rodrigo will be looking at their international careers.
Only those 3 Philips Meslier Raphinah will go and it will be like a sinking ship and I’ve reached the stage where I don’t blame anyone for getting out Ps this is down to radrizzani not Bielsa
Not so sure about that, apparently he was offered 3vplayers in January, one being motm today VDB, and he refused them all.
Only from Phil Hay, nor sure he's always on the money with his opinions but don't think he ever lies about such things
I love the guy, he has been part of a journey that’s been fantastic. Off the field he is humble and probably the most likeable manager in our history loved by all, Leeds and the neutral. I think because he is a man of strong belief, because he is loyal and honourable he has reached his limit. At Championship level it’s easy to find suitable players but for the PL it needs a bit more and many of those players that could offer a bit more carry an attitude that doesn’t sit well with Bielsa
To be honest I think I've made me opinions clear about him for the last 2 years. I can sit here with my hand on my heart at still say with shouldn't have sold Janson or Roofe. Yeah he's but that doesn't win games. Jose and Fergie are ****s and they won games. Loyalty gets you no where let's be honest. Again I bring up Fergie. I don't know if it's blind loyalty and just our fans being naïve but I get the feeling that the fans don't understand tthat the Premier League is Leagues ahead of the Championship in the level of quality. We should have canned a few players back in the summer and replaced them.
