That's complete bollocks, since the reason we moved was entirely because of Saltypool's hesitation, namely the whole "We'll wait until the summer" approach which gave us an opportunity, and the fact we'd agreed terms with Diaz a few days early underlines that he didn't seem to think we'd waited too long Realistically we needed to time it right to avoid potentially being gazumped, which is why I feel we actually made our interest known too early and that gave Liverpool time to come in with a bid, but if we made a move late on the last day of the window (after getting Bentancur and Kulusevski across the line) there's a chance we might have fluked it by catching the Mousers on the back foot For another example of staying your hand in the transfer market, remember when Newcastle made a bid for Wayne Rooney with 3-4 days remaining of the transfer window, which spurred Man Utd into action to make sure they got him? Bacon Face made sure to remind them about it afterwards, that's for sure
Alfie Whiteman is reportedly heading off to the MLS, and his Insta seems to be pointing to that please log in to view this image Cue speculation that he's joining either The Sheikh Mansour's American Team or Carabao Newark
We didn't register him post-transfer window and his contract's up in the summer. Either there's some movement on that or we're allowing him to move on for nothing/very little.
Signed an extension to 2023 according to Lilywhite Rose, they mentioned it yesterday, forgot to post on here about it.
Must be going on loan then, though I've no idea who to. Doesn't look like there's an opening at either NY team. New Jersey Alcohol Mixer FC just signed Carlos Coronel from Salzburg after having him on loan. Maybe he's too hipster to play, now he's signed a contract? please log in to view this image Man City Sportswashers have a few locals, one of which has played 163 games for them. That's got to be most of their entire history, so I doubt he's getting benched.
There's been conflicting stuff from what I've seen, some say he's going to a US side, which with HBIC's posted pic it certainly looks as though to be the case but there's also rumours that Degefors or another Swedish side are supposedly close to getting him.
He might be on holiday, if he's heading back to Sweden. They're in the pre-season right now and the season doesn't start properly until April. Their cup has a group stage that kicks off next weekend, though.
Yeah, another I should've mentioned previously, it was reported a few days back he was training with them and played in an U23 game recently too. They've also announced Kurylowicz's loan quite late as well, he's already played once or twice!
As I posted in the Academy Watch thread the other day, it was reported on Tuesday he was on trial there
Yoss posted a similar article the other day, I’d love for it to be true. It’d be fitting that he (potentially) finishes his career at the club and it’s fair to say we all felt robbed last season of seeing him back thanks to the pandemic. It feels like us fans are owed the chance to see him in our shirt live one more time. Both King and I have also noticed a lot of Bale media posts by the club over recent days/ weeks and I do wonder if they’re sort of teasing the prospect of his return, though that could just be wishful thinking on my part, lol.
If it were true I think Madrid would have fully paid him off to get him out of the club this January tbh. They clearly just want him gone.
Can Madrid not just release him now so he’s a free agent and then Spurs can sign him for the rest of the season on a free (very wishful thinking on my part)
I was not in favour of him returning last time tbh but had no understanding why he was so rarely used by JM. This time I think if he wanted to come I would be in favour cos for me he did well last season.
Yeah he impressed me last season, obviously not “peak Bale” but still better than the alternatives and offers a lot going forward with goals and assists. Bale playing with Kane and Son at a sold out stadium would be special
If we got a similar PL ROI as during his loan period, and without a "pension mode" wage bleed, then I would have Bale back.
