You haven't seen our performances though. It's an attractive job, if there is a decent replacement it's a good decision, Sven was taking us nowhere. The only thing that is madness is not having someone lined up already, if that is the case.
He wasn't even that for us, he must have regressed since leaving you! He could run and nothing else, even his throw ins led to us conceding!
Martin O'Neill would be great, but personally can't see it. Don't mean to wish this on you but I can see Steve McClaren taking it
Midtable Emilio...this league is so compact, we could be in the play-offs if we win our next game. And you know what, if we don't win that one, we have 32 more to come! This team has played 13 matches together, less if you take it from when Beckford came in, even less if you talk about Beckford and Nugent playing together. The thing we needed above anything was patience...now we're looking at the prospect of a conceited ex-sheep/tree s****** to bail us out. I've never see this as a good thing, even if we get promoted, I'll still see it that Sven did all the groundwork.
Agree with the first part tbf. And if it's McClaren I'd immediately burst into tears, then do something rash and insane.
Thanks for clearing the ''no-wingers formation thingy'' Leicester fans. Don't you have Llody Dyer.. yes he's getting on a bit but surely he isn't that bad and he would provide you with decent width and good pace.. or is he just not good enough?
Somebody like Billy Davies would be good imo. Not well liked and not a big name, but knows the league well and knows how to get teams challenging up the top end of the league
Dyer has great pace, but that's about it. His end product is poor. He'll have give the ball away or put a weak effort on goal. No good enough I'm afraid.
But if we had lost the gap would have been 8 points. It all depends on how you look at it but surely you'd admit it was pretty unlikely we'd get a result at Upton Park with the way Sven was setting us up, especially in away games. A quarter of the way into the season I expected some signs that we would be good enough and consistent enough. Out of 13 games we saw about 4 good performances if you added halves together, and only 2 impressive full matches. Sven may have laid the ground work in terms of signings (and he still didn't get the hugelu necessary winger, in fact he never had an intention to) but he can't motivate the players, doesn't know tactics and is frustratingly negative. The players weren't even fighting for him against Millwall. If we get promoted you can thank Sven if you like but I'll be thanking Top for being brave enough to make a necessary change even though it's not the done thing to do, and also the new manager for getting it done instead of not getting it done.
This.. also get Kazenga LuaLua back from Brighton and let him go to yours.. also Sammy Ameobi is another with very good pace, technically good, tall and skillful.
This. I think the irony of joining Forest's bitter rivals would be attractive to Billy. I also think that Leicester City are a bigger club than Nottingham Forest anyway.
Haris Vuckic, Tamas Kadar, JJ Hooper, James Tavernier, Mehdi Abeid and about 10 others would do well too haha
S'alright Dyer's not good enough really, he's definitely pacey and on his day can be very effective (on Saturday for example he almost changed the game single handedly) but his good days are very few and far between. I know I said I thought PVA had no technical ability but Lloyd has arguably even less, once in 20 he'll fool people into thinking he's a professional footballer when he is in fact a sprinter. Don't get me wrong I love the guy, always seems to give his all and like I said can be effective, in fact he should be a shoe in for our game this weekend after his sub display last week, but we should have a got a far more consistent winger in the summer with more footballing ability.
Shane Ferguson, Sammy Ameobi and Kazenga LuaLua are three young players with great futures ahead of them, they'll do any team proud.
If/when we can't get O'Neill I wouldn't mind him I also wouldn't mind Di Matteo, played good football with West Brom and got them promoted, shame he's at Chelsea at the moment, though the chance to build his reputation as a manager might be tempting? As I said on page one we haven't really the foggiest what's going on yet so I'm just throwing names into the hat
