It will be a tight game. I just can’t see you getting the 3 points. Draw or Dons win.

Superb thread RTB. I agree with the vast majority of your line up. I'm expecting a much improved performance all round in front of the new manager,

I would go for Winny and Matete in midfield. Evans - meh! As you say, if Wright is fit, put him in and give Doyle a rest. Hume has to start after his impressive midweek performance.

Put Defoe and Neil on for last 25 minutes if we need to score, but hopefully we'll have more than enough to unlock their defence. Whether we can keep a clean sheet is a different matter. I'll go for a tight 2-1 win for the Lads and a winning start for Alex.

This has got to be the first match forever that there hasn't been a pre match presser....or have I missed something?

I will stick with SAFC winning. Not such a silly prediction this time. A mere 0-4. Stewart & Defoe x2 each.

I honestly think this week has been a protest by the players and not a confidence thing. Now is the time to prove we are still in the race for promotion. Digressing slightly I think Wigan might just drop points tomorrow.

Excellent thread again RTB. Thank you for all your effort.

A draw will be heralded as the turning point when in reality it will be a disgusting point

    Strange times indeed.
Not even a confirmation that we have a new manager.

Never felt as disconnected as this before a game, wanted to click on 'meh - who cares' but I know that come full time I would care about the result.

I can only go with that spark of hope that seems to be impossible to quash and keeps me from throwing in the towel.

Sunderland to win, I don't care about the score, and apologies to all if my disastrous predictive luck pays another visit, but it's that flicker of hope that keeps us going in the face of all common sense.

The club seem to be taking us for fools. This is a poke in the eye for the fans who have turned up in numbers after multiple seasons of abject failure. Can’t even be arsed to announce the new boss because we have been vocal in who we want to run the footballing side of things and have not been impressed with the ****e they have dished up over the past few weeks. How dare we eh? I suppose we now know our place in the grand scheme of things. Maybe the fans need to re-evaluate where the club sits in their own lives, would that make the bosses take notice of them?

Thanks again RTB. Another great thread.

I fins it quite difficult to predict. I think Neil will have been studying us for his interviews in the last week or so. He will have a good handle on us I think. Wouldnt be surprised to see a tweak in formation. Also I expect the players to react positively, they always want to make a good first impression. It is whether they are mentally strong enough to perform for the 90 which will get us a result. I am going to go for a 3-1 win, with Neil making some reallt effective changes in the game.
