    http://www.football-lineups.com/match/110135/ An example here..

4132 formation.. with Abe holding.. but there's no width there. I only guessed Konchesky and Peltier would provide that. <ok>

But nor was Kelly? he took over until we got someone in?

Maybe Worthington would still be here? although boring he was a good steady guy!

You sound quite happy with the decisions?

I'm just asking for the Leicester fans to offer some insight because from the outside it ranks alongside the madness we've seen at St James' Park in recent years.

Chris Hughton sacking is almost on par with Sven I believe

Chris Hughton sacking at the time was worse for me, though Pardew has done well, who knows you may get a good manager see names like Mark Hughes, Martin O'Neill and Lee Clark have been linked with the job.

Kelly became permanent, definitely - when the lack of money ruled everyone else out!

This is part of the great frustration with Sven.

He played a fairly negative almost at times defensive 4-4-2 diamond formation. Very little natural width and pace. This, ultimately gave him no plan A(b) or B.

Sven is a proper Gent. A real decent man. It hurts for us like Sir Bobby for Newcastle, but he had to go.

In this league, you need plan B's. You need pace. You need width. Sven got scared and went too defensive and on numerous times not brave enough.

But as Emilio points out, you have to question some of the appointments in the first place. A lot of them, such as Levein, Allen, Kelly, Taylor and Adams were untested gambles that didn't pay off. Sousa hadn't done much either.

Pearson, on the otherhand, was a greatly astute appointment, and I'll never understand his departure. Sven is obviously the most recognised manager we've had since O'Neill, and I think he was doing OK. These two leaving I'm not so happy about. The rest... meh.

They are 2 points off the play offs and 5 points off automatic spots. Madness sacking the manager

Well, arguably, this was one of the tactical errors that Sven made that led to his sacking. In games like Millwall where they flood the midfield then hit us on the break, the diamond would mean they could match us up in midfield and deny them time and space and so we'd have to go wide to our full-backs. Obviously with the diamond there was nobody outside so always the ball was going back inside into midfield where there was no space and we really struggled to create chances in these games. In the bigger games it worked because they played more open football and we could outnumber them in central midfield.

We don;t have the playes to play an orthodox 4-4-2 but I think we should have gone 4-3-3 just to stretch the game and opposition when it wasn;t working and arguably that was Sven's biggest tactical flaw.

Yes I can clear this up, it's bollocks <laugh>

It's true we don't play with wingers, but one of our fullbacks is Paul Konchesky! We had much more agile full backs last season - one, Kyle Nauhgton, was on loan from spurs and is now at Norwich, and the other, Patrick Van Aanholt was on loan from Chelsea and was utter ****. Quick, but ****.

We don't get any width and that's one of the main problems. We try to play through the centre but lack ideas and don't play at a quick enough tempo.

We are in desperate need of a winger. <ok>

We had Van Aanholt here while we were in the Championship. He obviously hasn't improved since then

Completely disagree, Hughton had already taken them up and midtable in the Premier League I assume was seen as acceptable by Newcastle. Midtable in the Championship is not acceptable for us and Sven has done little to earn more time IMO.

Oh yeh of course you did, remember him playing against us.

I seem to remember he did OK with you?

His technical ability was limited to say the least, i thought.
