I did see somewhere the other day the well-known cancer scientist Dr Karol Sikora questioning all the veggie/vegan food that is being thrust upon us in order to cut down on meat eating so that we save the planet.

He never mentioned how stupid it is for plant-based foods to be named after the meat that they supposedly replace, such as chicken burgers that contain no chicken. Why not just sell them as tasting good rather than genetically engineering them to allegedly taste like meat?

What he did point out is that the plant-based foods on the market are mostly heavily processed products that are an inefficient use of the plant crops from which they originate and the processing infrastructure is hardly environmentally friendly. So your veggie burger probably has a higher climate change footprint than the beef/chicken that it is replacing, costs more but gives you the feeling of being on the moral high ground.

 

Mr Dyer said the pair had been discussing Barry Gardiner, a Labour MP who received funds from a suspected Chinese spy, when Mr Coyle said his colleague had been “paid by Fu Manchu”, a cartoon villain that draws on traditional Chinese stereotypes.

The journalist said that he suggested the reference to a “Chinese trope” was not appropriate and noted that he was British-Chinese.

He said the MP told him his heritage was apparent “from how you look like you've been giving renminbi to Barry Gardiner”.

As he left the bar that night, Mr Dyer said he wanted to defuse the tension with Mr Coyle, so waved him goodbye. He said the MP responded by sticking two fingers up at him.

 

They also avoid mentioning the amount of land, water and other resources that would be taken out of production if they do this. It'd certainly **** up the tree planting and diversity schemes, and also ignore the experts that produced the green plan for farmers showing they well bet net zero targets.

 

Strange that the lefties on here don't have any comment on the latest despicable race hate scandal in the Labour Party.
