Stadium of Light pitch

They only reseeded the pitch, they didn't lay the hybrid pitch LJ wanted. Clearly they got the grass seed from B and M home bargains.

 

Could cost us promotion. No excuse for that, needs sorting asap.

 

We turned up for Sunday league this morning with motorbike marks all over the pitch. But the majority was still better than the SOL, such a shame. Should never be the case. Do t get me started on the speaker systems never mind the pitch, if there is an emergency evacuation I’m screwed as can’t even hear the line ups man.

 

Seemed like there was only a couple of speakers turned on, I didn't hear a single thing he said.

 

If you watch the first season of Sunderland till I die, the pitch is pristine. During Ellis Short’s tenure it was always in great shape.

It don’t look like the 2 owners since have so much as forked it.

 

Thought they'd invested in state of art lighting system that didn't leave tire prints... wonder if that's the plan rather than reality? Or worse still misinformation

 

Can still never hear the manager's press Q&A properly - usually get the answer or the question but rarely both in decent quality. Maybe the fault of remote calls though as the Frankie and Danny sound quality is usually fine.

 

I can't ever remember a time the pitch has been this bad, interesting what you say about Donald duck and Charlie methane.

Didn't they also get rid of the long standing groundsman ?

 

I think I read that on here, treated shamefully I recall. Sacked when the piss taking party stopped apparently.

 

I said the other week against Lincoln, can talk about the grass etc but clearly we are skimping on groundsman etc. As to water that pitch before a match shows a complete lack of knowledge and experience. I had a feeling they had got rid of groundsman but wasn't sure if I was confusing it with the kit man.

They can lay all the pitches they want but they need highly experienced and competent staff to look after that pitch.

Probably the kit man and the grounds man. The last two probably got lads on community service to do it

I've often thought the two previous idiots would have skimped on the groundsman... sure we will find out in due course

Bump. Is this definitely happening now? I've seen all the craic about the floodlights being on because they are laying the new desso pitch thing (working around the clock so it's sorted for the next home game) but seen nowt from the club.

 

Nothing from the club but the Dutch firm doing it put out a tweet saying what they were doing. Something about weaving the grass. They're still on with it now

 

Champion. That looks like it's the same firm I posted about the pitch at Palace. Took them 5 weeks but looks like we are smashing it in 2.

There was a fair bit posted over the road mate. One of those 'hybrid' pitches going down apparently. The SoL lights were on and we all thought it was Keane getting announced but a few have said it's a new pitch going down for the MK Dons game.
