None of us can outthink Marcelo and he is stubborn but for me striking pecking order is Bamford, Rodrigo, Gelhardt and when Rodrigo preferred as a 10 then Gelhardt should be Bamfords shadow. Shackelton and Roberts are Championship players
Afternoon all. Still buzzing after the game. I'd like to give a mention to Struijk and Koch. I thought both had very good games against a world class attack. Jacob Ramsey should be going to the World Cup, Buendia is very tough to control and Coutinho is a class act. Our defence were up against it tonight so I thought they did ok. Meslier got marked down for his distribution but he didn't have it easy last night. He was given a few hospital balls to deal with but, as Bielsa wants, he didn't go row Z. We might think he should have done but I bet he'd upset Bielsa if he did. All our best breaks came from Villa pushing high up the pitch. If Meslier lumps it forward it would come straight back. With us running it out of defence, esp Ayling, the seas parted and you had our quick forwards against Mings. Great game to watch.
Would you swap him for Watkins? I wouldn't. I think the issue I have with dismissing Shaks, Roberts and Cooper is that they're being compared to PL starters rather than PL subs bench. When Roberts had a run of games he got much better. It's tough to make a statement when you're usually coming on very late in the game. I have been critical of Rodrigo but I thought he was excellent last night. He doesn't press like James or tackle like Philips but he's got a bit of class about him and his link up play is very good. Many have been critical of James but he works his arse off every game, that's all I ask. Watkins hardly got a touch, Zouma's cat got more kicks than he did. I can't wait until we get a full squad to pick from.
Bit unfair on Bielsa - what if no-one was remotely interested in Roberts? The Leeds fanbase certainly isn't!

honestly don't believe this ... if Leeds made an offer, Arsenal would have jumped at it to get the waster's wages off their books ... Elneny is definitely not a Bielsa Baller, he's played little games this season and would be nowhere near the standard required to get in the Leeds team ... he's also not better than what we've got this is his agent trying to get his player in the shop window so that he gets another high value Prem contract in July, because Arsenal definitely won't keep him ... the rubbish these "pundits" print is astonishing, and as Jock says nothing will come of it, because it's nothing
