It’s not Neil’s fault what has gone on with Keane. Sure we will all get behind him and let’s hope he can drag us up through the automatic places.
We play AFC Wimbledon in 43 hours and still no appointment made. This so-called process is slower than tidal erosion
Absolutely, one thing is it’s not the new managers fault that the board have done this monumental **** up
I was always thinking Keane was the man to save this season and on that basis I would have been over the moon if he'd of taken the job. Like others have said, I was hopeful rather than confident that he would have been here for the long haul. It was always going to be an uneasy fit for him to slot into a system where he'd be forced to listen to and, in some scenarios (transfers etc), be overruled by people I'm absolutely convinced he would have considered not on his level. Car crash waiting to happen, maybe? We'll never know now! Having read and watched some of the stuff linked in this thread about Neil, I'm quite reassured that he appears to be attack minded and also someone who requires certain standards to be met, which I think is needed urgently to get something out of this season. Fingers crossed and good luck to him!
Judge them at the end of the season eh. It's not been great, however we still have a chance of going up if we get behind the new boss.
"In the last fortnight or so the club has been made to look nothing less than amateurish and bloody ridiculous." In all honesty mate I'd say that's only the situation from the inside looking out. From the outside it's just another club, like Watford, ringing the changes. It's not the big deal you might think it is in my opinion. Man Utd were the best without question with an incredible manager and a trophy cabinet in need of an extension. The manager retired and personally recommended a man who was a disaster. He was succeeded by another disaster then another disaster and now an interim disaster. Are Man Utd 'bloody ridiculous' ...
Out of all the names linked, I fancied Neil I’ve unfortunately got PNE in laws and so had seen a bit of them and thought he’d done a decent job there Then I got caught up on all the Keane excitement I reckon I could do this DOF job, I wouldn’t have wasted 2 games with a bag of nerves under 10’s coach
I made my feelings on Keane known early. Probably too vocally to be fair. However, I do think we have had a very fortunate reprieve with it falling through. I dont know the ins and outs of why it fell through, and it does look a bit of a hokey kokey on all parts, but I am glad he will be back on the tv studio where I can just mute him. I do expect in the summer some ramifications from the fiasco of the last 2 weeks. I live in the midlands and I havent spoken to a single football lad down here in the last 2 weeks that 1) could get their head around why Johnson was sacked, and 2) why ever we would appoint Keane. Even the forest lot round here think he would be a rubbish choice. A derby lad said on Tuesday to me I thought you lot had more sense than that. People in the media will love Keane, because he is a media man now. I think that inflates his appeal in the media. To me he has never had any appeal for the situation we are in and the club we now are. I know lots are gutted, and I have sympathy, but in my opiniom he never had anything to offer us this time around.
