Just about to post the same thing mate if this appointment was made 2-3 days after the LJ sacking I think most would have been really impressed with the appointment.

either way what’s done is done and we need to rally and get behind our team.

    Ha’way the lads.

Always made my old man feel welcome when he came down south and started supporting Sunderland as a teenager. Lot of Scotsmen in the team including his idol Jim Baxter so that helped!

We’re in the same boat, mate. Ignored by southern based government and looked down upon by some southerners and all Londoners.

I wouldn't go that far. Our pulling power is far greater than any other League 1 club and probably the majority of the championship. It's a decent appointment. No more than that

I can imagine Speakman looking at himself in his bathroom mirror tonight, telling himself that he is the man. The process was followed and the integrity remained.

Was Keane happy to work with the DoF model mate? Was it purely down to contract length. Appreciate it if you can't say though.

Indeed...what about Keane's observation that he would even come back to Sunderland if we were somehow a non league club, such was his respect for the supporters.
It all looks like pretentious bullshit now.
I reckon he'll never get another job in management.

You'd assume these issues would have been discussed during the initial contact. I reckon it came down to money

Quite possible. I was just thinking of the 'staff' issue. Any new coach would want his own staff in which is normal, but I wonder if he wanted shot of Speakman. Pure guesswork like.

Still furious with the Keane fiasco (and gutted) but if it’s not him then it has to be Neil, good watch this anyway

KLD bought a professional club and the club must be run in a professional manner. Player's agents, other club's player development staff, UEFA, the FA, EFL and PFA wouldn't give KLD any extra leeway just because he is inexperienced, so why should we fans be any different?

In the last fortnight or so the club has been made to look nothing less than amateurish and bloody ridiculous. How is that going to look over the summer to the big clubs we will want to loan players from or to players we want to sign?

I'm sorry, but I don't feel like sweeping this under the carpet just because KLD is young and inexperienced, nor do I think it should be. At the very least we fans deserve an apology for this **** storm and ideally the club needs to have a good, hard look at what went wrong and fix it.
