People seem to forget that Neil has worked in the championship most of his career. We’re a league 1 club so getting him in is a coup.

no one knows wether Keane would have been any good. He could have been utter dogshit for all we know. We need to forget Keane and move on and back Neil to get us out of this division.

Well it’s been a disappointing couple of weeks on the pitch and a frustrating one off it. Would I have liked Keane to return Yes but at the end of the day it’s not to be. What is important now is that we all get behind the new fella and the players and make the best of what is left of the rest of the season. I know most of us will anyway as I have done for more than 50 years. Managers, players come and go but I love my club and it’s magnificent support it’s the one constant that keeps me going. I’ve made many friends supporting the club and will hopefully make many more. I just have a sneaky feeling that things will turn out ok we are due a win at Wembley with our supporters present. Good luck to the new man I hope you become a Sunderland Legend. Keep the faith lads and lasses.

He’s the only manager since we’ve been down here that’s managed in the premier league

Completely agree with this. I think when the dust has settled we will realise Neil is actually a good appointment. It's the last week that has left us feeling a tad messed around.

If Keane really wanted the job, he would have took it. He didn't, its now history.

Welcome to Sunderland Alex Neil, just hope he does us proud and the fans back him ...even if he does look a bit like Dominic Cummings.

I feel like if the day after LJ left we hired Neil the general consensus would have been that whilst a romantic reunion with Keane would have been fun, this was the more sensible hire. I don't know if thats just me trying to make myself feel better about it though, either way Haway Neil man
