I doubt that there is a politician of any standing in the whole country who hasn't committed some indescretion or made a mistake. Where Tubs trumps them all though us the sheer industrial scale of his lying. Everyone he has ever come in contact with has ended up tainted by the filthy bastard in some way or another. I always joined the trade Union for legal insurance more than anything but felt it was a piss take propping up the Labour Party who go against the interests of English workers .

Labour are run like a charity much like the BBC

 

I know someone that was massively into unions, right up until they went to the national conference, and were told to stop thinking of the workers problems, as the whole thing was about them as reps and what they could get out of it for themselves.

 

If you are prone to disciplinaries it's better to go into an investigation with a Union rep .

 

I've actually done better without them. They tend to follow the 'normal' process, and I found shifting the focus from where they wanted to be was far more effective. I found they were far more interested if it was a 'minority' issue.

I did know a Hindu lady that was an equalities rep, and she was brilliant. If the females claimed racism or sexism for what were actually their personal issues, she would go mad at them for dragging the sex and equality rights down, and tell them to sort their act out. Sadly the unions moved her on in the end as it didn't suit their narrative (her words, not mine).

 

If you go into a disciplinary without Union representation the employer knows that if they fire you, to appeal and go to a tribunal it will cost thousands in legal fees .

Not always. I know someone that tried that, and got dropped by the unions, and had to follow it through themselves. When they eventually succeeded in their action, the Union had the gall to try and claim the credit.
