Not been at the club 3 years so would be home grow nation but not home grown club so would still have to be registered in the 25 man CL squad I gather.
Not sure why. its a good question. Maybe Elliott is only "homegrown" so fills one of those slots? As jones is under 21 and club trained maybe this is why he can be on b list and boost our numbers up? what i can say is theres 17 foreign players in. then theres 7 "HG" this can be split into 2. CLub trained (4) and HG (4) who are form another club Trent Kelleher gomez? for Club trained (not sure on gomez) then henderson, milner, ox, elliott as the full quote of HG. I would be confused as to why jones wouldn't be a list then to make it a full 25. robbo is foreign i think as he start in sweatyland.
If pre-injury Elliott is anything to go by, he was getting more minutes than Jones at the start of the season. HG status aside, I think Klopp plans on using him more. (Although Elliott is more of an attacking player of the two so maybe now we have Diaz, Elliott will see fewer minutes).
Jones and Elliott are both very good technically and are good pressers. But the one noticeable difference is Elliott plays a lot quicker and has better decision making. Jones often holds onto the ball far too long and needs to release it quicker - once he does that, then we have a real player on our hands.
